Do you measure Jelqs by number or time?

How do you decide how much jelqing is going to be in your routine? I personally use a time reference rather than a number because it seems to me that I am better able to focus on the quality as opposed to if I was just trying to reach a certain number.

Number. I try to make sure that they are all of very high intensity also and I do them slowly.

Same here,i find that you end up concentrating more on counting the reps than jelqing with intensity

I count them in seconds, but i've mastered it so i do one rep ever 2 secs so i just count double the amount of jelgs i want to do.:)

Ditto for me. I lose my focus when I try to count them.

I usually measure jelqs by the amount of time it will take. I find that if I count them, I often lose my erection as I focus on counting.

Yeah its a lot easier to look up at a clock and see when it is you are going to stop than actively track how many you've done. Like when I went by numbers I would start off counting then forget to focus on intensity so then I'd focus on intensity and loose count. Pointless. Say each jelq is about 3 seconds. Well then if I want to do 400 that would add up to about 20 minutes. So that is how long I would exercise for until the clock shows 20 minutes while being able to fully focus on intensity.

I have a large analogue battery clock that ticks in seconds and is easily visible from my pe station. This acts like a metronome, all I do is fix the time before hand and match the strokes to the ticks.

I also use it for stretching, not the ticks, but the large second hand to time the minutes or 30s or whatever.

Very useful!

Thats how I do it! I use it to count stretches and what not then use it to help keep in sync while jelqing and figure out how much time is left.:p

Yes i'm also into quality over quantity. dont get concerned with the number you do , just focus on quality.

I have to say that to me counting helps me with my intensity. I get really antsy when I'm looking at a clock and seeing how close to the end of a set I am. That's more of a problem than counting. The count actually gives me a cadence per stroke, and each one is exactly the same as the last. This to me is the best method for jelqing because it is very monotonous and this actually can break it up quite a bit, because it gives you a pace and then you only have to reach the end of the set. Focus would be much more intense with the focus on reps as opposed to time. If you're doing more than 200-400 jelqs at a time you may want to reevaluate your routine a bit.

I've done it both ways, in the last 5 years, when I started I watched the clock, but now I count strokes with left hand, and fantasize with the right, it may not work for you but it works well for me.
