Baldness/Thinning

Yeah... I'm 18 and I'm pretty sure I'm going bald. My hairline is also has receded quite a bit within the past few years or so.

Who else has this problem and what the heck can I do to counter it or help.

Thanks

I have the same problem. I'm 21 and look about 26. The problem with finding a sure fire cure is that there are many different causes for male pattern hair loss. The big three are that:

1. The pores are clogged, blocking new hair from growing in.
2. Bad circulation resulting in little or nutrient delivery to the hair follicles.
3. Genetics/Biology which causes testosterone to be transformed into dihydrotestosteron (DHT).

In the first case I would reccomend getting a specialized shampoo to clean out the entire scalp. In the second you can try herbs such as ginkgo, or Saw Pametto. In the third case there are special herbal supplements you can get called DHT Blockers which may be helpful.

Inspite of what TV says, I don't reccomend Minoxidil/Rogain, as it only works on the crown of the head, or the 'bald spot'. You might want to look into follicare (www.follicare.com)

I thought it was Propecia/finastride that only works on the crown of the head. Minoxidil is supposed to work on the front also.

Propecia/finastride and the like work on the crown, minoxidil is only supposed to be beneficial to the back/top portion of the scalp. Also, nizerol shampoo is beneficial.

Nizerol shampoo works really good! Bodybuilders use it while juicing to keep their hair!. You can find 1% over the counter, but go for 2% online. 2% comes from canada ;)

The best way is www.hairloss-reversible.com. Like lifting weights it takes time, but it is for the long term (it reminds me of Penis Enlargement alot). I have bought the cd video and his book, although I am 25 and my hairline is perfect. I just want it to stay that way. BTW, Tom looks so young on the cd video, that picture of him on the site is awful, he must be looking into the sun or something.

For thinning use folligen cream at www.skinbiology.com with 5% minoxidil, or just use the folligen lotion. Copper peptides are the shit. Like afroman, I have also heard nizerol works well as a shampoo and conditioner. Also, try emu oil and jojoba oil for the scalp.

The BIG THREE are actually
1. Finasteride (Propecia or finasteride)
2. Minoxidil (rogaine, hair-a-gain etc)
3. Patience (some people choose to substitute this with transplants, but you can choose)
