Who Should Star as the New James Bond?

Casino Royale was not technically a "Bond movie." I know it was about James Bond, but it was done as a spoof, and a bad one at that. It was done during the Sean Connery era (the best Bond, IMO). This will be the first time Casino Royale has been done as serius Bond movie, as a serious film of the first Fleming novel to introduce the orld to James Bond.

If it isn't going to be Jude Law, I think Clive Owen would make a good Bond. Dougray Scott can't carry the franchise, IMO. Jude Law has enough star power to make it work. Clive Owen, I think is good enough to pull it off successfully. Beyond that I'm gonna have to wait and see. Whoever plays Bond needs to be refined and respected in a Bond-like way outside of the character. Connery was the epitome of Bond. I think Pierce Brosnon was #2, but he suffered from some cheesy story lines and scripts.

Colin Farrell would kill the franchise, IMO. Hugh Jackman may be OK; I personally don't like him much, but a lot of people seem to think he's good. It will be interesting to see what happens.

The first make of Casino Royale was with Peter Sellers I think. This one should be better.
 
Guy Pearce is another I forgot alongwith the baddy from GoldenEye, Sean Bean....Sean Bean would do really fuckin well as the new bond. Also Guy pearce has been a baddy in one of the newer JB films. Jude Law is good, but I think hes would be too sorta good looking if you catch my drift to be a James Bond....looks too young, I mean they gotta look mature, IMHO he looks young. Would make my day if Vinny Jones, Guy pearce or Sean Bean could get the part. Its gotta be a BRITISH person, I mean we have had Aussies and just had a IrisHydromaxan so now its time for ENGLAND. No yanks please lol that would kill the damn film.
 
I reckon it will be none of the guys we have thought of. Probably be some guy you wouldn't think of and may not even have heard of.

True, Pierce wasnt well known before he got the JB part.
Also the Black British actor in the Aliens VS Predator film....hes like on that Bishops team.....you'll know who I mean if you seen it. Doesnt play a main role or anything but hes Black and British. Just something I thought I;d throw in because a Black actor is needed, not many UK ones. I would however make an exception to my non British actors if Wesley Snipes was allowed to become JB....man hes kick ass. He and Morgan Freeman, Denzil Washington, that Cuba Jnr guy, Samuel L Jackson....however I myself wouldnt mind seeing Wesley as the new JB. I do think he and Denzil could do the posh fuckin un-typical lol British accent.

Actually Pierce Brosnan had been discussed for the role of Bond for about 12 years before he actually did it. It the early to mid 1980s he starred in an American TV show called "Remington Steele." Due to his contractual status he was not allowed to do the Bond franchise. After the series anded they didn't do a Bond flick for awhile. Had it not been for the TV contract, Pierce would have been Bond for twenty years instead of 9 or 10.

Yeah but here in the UK he was unheard of.
I knew he had done a few shows here and there, but he was NO ONE when he got the JB role. It made him what he is today.

Ahhh... I see. I guess that's kind of how it was for Guy Pierce. Nobody in the States had really heard of him until he did L.A. Confidential, but I think he was pretty well known in Australia already.
 
I think it should be Mike Myers.
No really it should be either: Jude law (because he is very sophisticated)
Christian Bale (because I loved Equilibrium) or
Me (because I'm amazing)
