Priapism. Will you know when its hard for too long? color..?

Hi. They say a priapism, is an erection lasting for more than 3 hours, or something like that. It requires surgical attention. Will you know if you are okay though, by the color of your penis?

When you clamp for long sets, in can get a bit darker in color, from circulation loss. I would think the same is true for long erections. If it isnt getting discolored, than wouldnt that mean its safe?

Im wondering if theres any indicators, besides the length of time?

Deep discoloration is never a good thing. Priapism is definitely an emergency and can cause irreversible penile damage.
 
I guess that PAIN is the main indicator. If doing some squats, popping a few sudafed's, and taking a hot bath don't get it to go away, you better be off to the emergency room. From what I've heard, the three strategies I just mentioned usually do the trick.
