This site should not log you out after 5 minutes-that's really stupid. Maybe after 30 minutes. But I write a post, and I type 70 wpm.... it shouldn't log me out after 2 paragraphs. Great site, but it's bogus to make us log in again and again when we haven't left eh?

Hi, sorry to hear about that and I know how it feels to write a long post or thread and than post it to see it has logged me out. What I do now, learned a longtime ago is straight away copy it and than post just in case. My advice to you is post this concern in the thread here on what to improve on the forums and see if DLD responds.

My web sites do not time out at all. Mine are just business sites for higher price products and don't have the type of traffic that requires such a feature for the sake of server maintenance.
But this is a common feature (time out) on any medium-large traffic sites-but 5 minutes is ridiculous, can't say I've ever seen one that logs you out so quickly. Again, 30 minutes is more typical, and I've seen some as low as maybe 20 minutes. BUT, those sites also log if you change pages and the clock starts ticking again. This site does not do that-which is a major flaw considering the appearance of an otherwise very professional nature. Looks like a glitch or an oversight to me, which is why I brought it up. In fine, if there is activity, like changing pages, or clicks, it should not keep the timer going. The timers are supposed to be for inactivity to again save server space. This site logs you out even when you are active, which is again, stupid.

Ya, it's working now, thank you. Also-when it bumped me out, it didn't actually delete my message which was nice, it was cached for the post page when I became logged in-most sites do wipe your post out, even big monster sites.

As an aside, owing to your mention of your alleged websites; I certainly hope that this little bitch session of yours wasn't simply some ruse to direct traffic directly to "your" site(s) in order to increase sales or presence.

Appears you're calling me a liar too... Why is having multiple web sites hard to believe? I'm in real estate, I own several web sites and also make a web site for every property I list... this is highly common in this industry-anybody can build a website and it costs $4.00-$10.00 to register a domain. And frankly, anybody in real business (as opposed to say pills) would not want their links on a Penis Enlargement website lol.

It happens on teh forums here at least 3 times a month and usually this is when the server is filled (yes we are that busy). There is a lot more maintenance and tweaking that goes on in a forum opposed to a website. In any case, I have made it a habit to type long posts out on a wordpad first, just in case something goes down.

I understand, and it works perfectly now. I didn't know this had been up 10 years, wish I'd had found it 10 years ago lol. No question my web sites do not have heavy traffic, likely they never will due to their nature, which is what I was talking about-I don't need timers on such a site, they can stay logged in forever as I'll never reach my maximums. Course, I'm not the one that brought my web sites into it in the first place lol.

Now you insult us both by claiming I'm misinterpreting stuff. Now you have called me immature-clearly you are above the rules.
