Example of a Home Made, Modified BIB Hanger. (PICS of Hanger/Hanging With It)

I made this in about 15 minutes or so the other day. Ideally, you want to construct the entire thing out of the type of nylon braided hose that the top piece is made from, but the Lowe's nearest to me was totally out of anything but the 1.25" diameter stuff (which I used for the top piece). Most guys who make these will use 1.25" diameter hose for the top piece and somewhere between 1.5" and 1.75" diameter hose for the bottom piece. I find 1.5" diameter hose works best for me as a bottom piece. Note, the hose clamp pictured here opens to a maximum size of 2" (two inches), I have found this size clamp to be best.

The white hose I had to use in place of the braided nylon hose is called "flex hose". Otherwise, the braided nylon stuff is called exactly that "braided nylon hose". LOL. I would not suggest you use any hose that is very soft. The hoses suggested by myself and BIB in the 'how to' threads I have here are suggested on purpose. You need something that is semi rigid, but at the same time, semi flexible. Pipe insulation is not a good idea either.

This type of hanger is all we had to hang with a few years ago, and this Modified Hanger can be used to hang as heavily as any of you might ever need to hang with. I have two pics:

As far as using this type of hanger goes, it is very simple. Wrap with a few layers of material (refer to my wrapping threads and or the other sticky threads where wrapping is mentioned), put the top piece on about 1/4" behind the front edge of the wrap, then put the bottom piece and the hose clamp on. The hose clamp should sit about 1/4" to 1/2" behind the front edge of the top piece where the "V" or "U" is cut out. Refer to the "How To" threads for more details and use the diagrams as guides. As you can see by this example piece (which works!!), you do NOT have to be a skilled craftsman to make one of these. Nor do the cuts have to be exact.

First a few pics putting it on. I put on the top piece, then the bottom, then the rest is pretty idiot proof. Read the directions posted elsewhere.

LOL, yea it's exactly 15lbs. That was a "for demonstration purposes" picture.

yeah, great pics! Thanks for that! BTW, which one do you use, this one or the 'real' BIB? I'm not saying that yours isn't real, but you get my point...

I use the production BIB Starter model. ALthough I'm confident that if something ever happened to that hanger...it broke for some unseen reason, I could go right to the home made hangers and carry on.

Inspired by SWM I went ahead and made my own hanger with a few modifications. Id post some pics but there is no 'IMG' button on this reply??. Strange or did I miss something?

Yea, you missed something. Dont use the quick reply. Do the regular reply. You will see a "manage attachements" box, where you upload pics. Make em no bigger than about 800x600, mine are usually 600x450 or so for quick opening.

Thanks SWM! While reading your post on making a Home made BIB hanger, I got an idea for helping to do the "behind the butt stretches" that DLD had suggested I do.(since I'm so small flaccid) I'm going to build your version of a BIB and then with the use of a old nylon strap dog leash I have, use it to do the stretches. Sort of a modified "foot long stretch". rofl
Then maybe, if all works out I'll do a little "hanging". This I'll have to do in secret as the wife said that she doesn't want me to hang. :s

Yep, Im gonna have to make one of these now. Thanks SWM, this answered all my questions on how to make one. :)

No problem man. That's my goal whenever I post a demonstration thread.

Man, I wish I lived alone. I hate not having moved out yet. I would definitely want me one of these if it was possible, though. About how much did the whole thing run you, SWM?

i just went out to lowes and bought a setup similar to SWM's but i accidentally bought a 1.5" nylon braided hose along with a 1.5" flex hose. Did i totally screw up and do i have to buy a smaller nylon hose to fit inside the flex or can i just use both with the same width?

Pics of still hanging will not load. What's the deal?

Parts cost around $5 from what I recall. Pics will not load because they no longer exist. They have been lost. Someone else could always take initiative and post some new pics.

Very easy to make and looks like it may be even more comfortable than the bib.

Just as a question to those who constructed this particular hanger. What did you cut the Flex hose with? Went to Lowe's and it seemed kinda awkward asking them to cut it to the size and shape in the diagram.

That flex hose is tough as hell n i dont want my mom wondering y her new steak knives just happened to be dull right out the box. Any other suggestions?

If your mom gives you any back talk just give her a back hand jk.... but really dont you have a hack saw or anything? by the way... it didnt dull the knife ;)

Thats funny bro. Ill give it a go. What size flex hose did you use? Idk what size flex hose to get bc all the one's at Home Depot look to small. I'll just walk across the parking lot to Lowe's next time lol.

yeah man I dont remember what size I got.... it wont be the same flex hose for everyone though. So look at the hoses and guestimate. Your dick dosnt have to actually fit in the tube, it just needs to be big enough so when u split the tube it will wrap around ur cock atleast 3/4 of the way.... This is what causes the clamp effect, that 1/4 or so will then close when you start to clamp...

Just for what its worth... this is a good rig IMO

Ok so i modified the one I made and have been using for almost two weeks now with a bigger section of flex hose. Got a little slippage, adjusted my wrap and that fixed the problem. Just as a question does the flex hose or the braid nylon hose dig into your skin when you tighten it down to hang?

Thanks for posting this!! Went to Home Depot and they didn't have the right sizes. Then went to Lowe's and they had similar sizes but for 'braided pvc hose'. Not sure if that is the same or not but went for it.

Took me a few tries to get it right. At first I tried 1.25'x1.5' but that didn't seem to work. Finally I went for 1.5'x1.5' and cut the edges of the bottom piece. My flaccid girth is only 4.5' so I know I am less than yours. Most likely a difference in hose or user error :)

Anyway, using that combination this worked really well!! I was having issues with the captn's wench above 10 pounds as others mentioned (although this could be user error again). Did 6 sets total between two days varying between 12 pounds and 8 pounds for 20 minutes each (I am lightweight still). Took some experimenting on how tight to make the clamp but overall very good.

Thanks!!

The pics you have loaded is not working..............well i hope it works better.
reply me and kindly put the images so all of us can have a look that how it works

Yall know you can post pictures through [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MOS[/words]

I just made one of these!

I used braided vinyl tubing for the outside part (like this: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053) but vinyl. Actually, that looks almost exactly like the material I used, so maybe it's the same.

For the inside part I couldn't find flexible hose so I got some pipe insulation instead: http://www.homedepot.com/Building-M...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

I got the same hose clamp and S-hook pictured here (S-hook is rated up to 125lbs, I doubt anyone has ever hung that much!).

Next up is to get some weights and rope to tie on!

I don't have a camera but I hope to get one soon and then I'll take pics and post.

Yea, the original in use pics were removed for violating terms of service (nudity) on photobucket. I didn't know better at the time. Doesn't seem to have kept many (if any) guys from being resourceful and figuring things out though.

There were some questions above about how to cut the hoses. I guess guys don't take "shop" classes anymore in high school?? ;) I used an "X-Acto" knife. Use your heads, be careful, cut AWAY from you, bla bla bla. This type of hanger could handle (comfort wise) up to around 25lbs. I've known very few men though who ever use that much weight, hence my comments about it being able to hand pretty much any amount of weight. :)

Most hardware stores that sell these hoses have cutting tools near the hoses. It's not awkward (shouldn't be, you're just working on your plumbing right??) to ask an employee to cut you off a foot of this hose and that one.
