One prize per month per member per year and the option of a grand prize at the end of the year as well.

Also a little more clarity about how this system works.

We installed the "Likes" and "Thanks" buttons to keep track of who is posting quality information here. We do not score based on how many "Like" or "Thanks" a member gives. We also look closely at who is starting quality threads, shooting video, bumping classic quality threads as well.

The scoring system is a combination of both Post Count with Likes and Thanks received. Yes, any member here can make a million posts here that mean absolutely nothing and get no likes or thanks and those posts do not help the community here. This is a waste of space in our database and just clutters the forums. So if you post "That sounds good" or "lol" or "cool" or "I like blue shoes" 500 times, those posts absolutely do not matter and do not get credited.

If someone posts 10 - 20 posts all month that receive multiple likes and thanks by various "credible" members, that holds more value than the person that posts 500 meaningless posts all day that get no Likes or Thanks. By "credible members" we mean a member that has contributed here already, not a random person that just signed up and starts liking or thanking one random members posts here all the time. Part of the system tracks IPs and receptive likes and thanks to members by members and can single out members hiding behind proxies as well. It is not a simple system that can be easily beat. Between this system and our eyes we make the decisions.

Don't look at this as a contest to win a prize by trying to beat the system. Look at it as an award for contributing towards an incredible library of information here that will help another members life.



Here are a few tips for winning the poster of the month contest, written by yours truly. Not in any particular order of importance but this could help you get free stuff.

1. Try to post in as many topics as possible.
This does not mean spam, but if you have any insight or questions on a topic make at least one post and let your voice be heard.

2. Give out Likes and Thanks often.
Even if the post was written by somebody else going for poster of the month if you think it is good information then click either Like or Thanks. If people see you giving out likes they will think you're cool and probably return the favor. Next level well written posts DESERVE Likes/Thanks

3. Video tutorials of exercises or techniques are the BEST way to get Likes/Thanks.
If you make a video that helps other users you are guaranteed to get some love. So if you got balls or just really want to show the proper way to enlarge your penis make a video!

4. Post every single day.
Even if you can only log onto the forum for 5-10 minutes just pop in and contribute a little bit. To win poster of the month you have to maintain a presence on the forums.

5. Be nice!
It's that simple. Your mom said you will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, so don't forget to be nice.

Personally, I only reply at times when I really feel I have something to give, which is why my post count is so low. I self-censor myself a lot!

I understand the struggle with self-censoring man. I do this so much in real-life, just smile and nod when I don't think I have a comment that could contribute. Here I feel a little more free and able to say what I'm thinking. Its always that like thought in the back of my mind that I'm doing too much but I'm hoping I'm not being that annoying lol

I know you've been around a lot longer than me but I want to encourage you to reply with your thoughts whenever you can. We sometimes won't share our minds because we don't feel like it contributes to the conversation but a lot of times, those thoughts were really insightful or at the least progressed to something insightful. Go for it and look forward to reading more posts by you!

I think ages ago there was a small update from time to time who has the most posts during the month, but of course the amount of posts shouldn't be the only factor and thankfully it isn't.
Since the thanks and likes buttons were introduced I don't recall such updates about most posts and so on.

Also; as there isn't these updates it doesn't create ill competition; better it is so, that threads don't derail too much and that there's more good information than just "blahblah" in the sense of what I've just written. ;-)
 
I don't know how other PE forums do things but this place is the bees knees for giving away quality prizes. I don't know how this place doesn't have thousands of posters every month contributing their knowledge in an attempt to win something substantial.

As a former winner I say congrats to you Longerdick7+. May you acquire not only the tools to improve your tool but also grow the knowledge to grow your tool.

I know,I'm just asking because I tried so hard to win this month,So I am just trying to get a measure on my efforts if they are inadequate or not thats all. also I think I was pretty close

Near the top of the screen under "quick links" you can pull up "top posters of the month" and it'll show total number of posts for the month. It doesn't show who has most likes/thanks though.

Great! Two new things I've learned today, how to input an image to the post so it shows up and isn't just a link.
Was interesting to see, I honesly felt I posted a lot more, but it's probably my self-censorship that in the end just clicks the X to close the window. (Or tab.)
Albeit, when I usually post, my posts are a bit long at times, but I prefer it that way.

I will send this concern to LIGHTNING.

MEME's do not count unless accompanied by words.
Posts with one sentence or word do not count.
Anything seen as redundant or repetitive will also be excluded

Make sure posting is well thought out, altruistic, kind, and done for the right reason. Yes wining is great but helping your Brothers is far greater.

First you have to do the initial attaching / uploading. The code for putting a picture to show is +
+, minus the plus marks. I think I uploaded the picture, opened it up, copied the URL and then put the URL inside that img-bracket thing.
Seemed to work alright in this one thread, I consider editing few of my others posts with pictures to that similarity! It's strange how many years ago I posted a picture about my modded Ring Of Power and that didn't need as lot of work, but I guess there might have been some changes.

I do the self-censorship thing too. I'll start typing and sometimes my posts get super long and go off on some weird tangent. I end up deleting a lot of posts before hitting submit.

I also make some long posts at times. I'm the same way in person when I get into a good discussion with someone (obviously talking though, not typing). I like to talk and I can't help it :o

This might come as "ass-kissing", but please post everything you have in your mind!

I clean my keyboard from time to time with some wipes. I like relatively clean equipment; to my shame I have dismissed some of my friends keyboard due to their filthiness!

I think it's just relatively to my playing several instruments from time to time; keeping your hands clean makes the strings last longer ...
But sometimes good thoughts come through from dirty keyboards or strings!

Sometimes I will write a post and realize I am being selfish, rude, insensitive, vengeful, etc. and my conscious kicks in and I rewrite. This can happen over and over until I feel what I am saying is fair and brotherly. My "!" key gets used a lot and I am always saying things like, Congratulations! or Good Job!
