Really the best thing to do is to encourage your daughters to NOT be slutty especially with today's social media and how well connected everyone has become. What used to take a day or two for the whole school to figure out now occurs in less than an hour and with picture or video proof. Teenagers today are viscous towards each other.

If you want truly high quality video and photo you need to get a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex). There's a reason the pros don't use their cell phones. With a DSLR you can swap out lenses, have a variety F Stop settings, better shutter speed control, etc. For the average person it's not really necessary. For the amateur to pro photographer it's a must.

I want to get the camera for the sake of my music career. I checked on the DSLR on amazon and I'm seeing different types with different prices. The prices ranges from around $396 to $3289. What's the difference in these cameras? Is it that the cheaper DSLR have lower picture/video quality?

You get what you pay for. As far as how good do you need I don't know. I'd go Nikon or Canon though and read reviews. Both have been known for their quality going back to film days.

I am by no means an expert but that generally carries true with electronics. The last digital camera I bought was a Canon (not a pro one, just regular use). Even after reading reviews that said "this model is lightning fast, this one is slower" I went with the cheaper one for $50 less. It was faster and better than the camera it was replacing but damn was it slow between pictures. A few months later I bumped into someone with the better camera and it was day and night difference on speed. I didn't cheap out because I couldn't afford it, I just thought I wouldn't need it.

I'd suggest finding some cameras in your budget and then Google them. There's forums for everything so when the results lead to them go read what real users say, not just the reviews on the website selling it.
