about a week ago i noticed a small sized lump on my left testicle.

i have been contemplating going to my doctor but i find this whole thing incredibly embarrasing.

is it true that people with testicular cancer have to get both of their testicles removed?

if so, then i have to say id rather take the risk of getting cancer .

I would rather die then not be able to father children

Alright my man this is NO JOKE.

If you wait, the results of what could happen would be FAR worse than if you go and find out NOW. IF it is cancer, it is alot easier to treat if it is detected early. It may be as easy as a small surgical procedure to remove the growth, not necessarily the test. If you wait you could definitely loose both tests and your life. Just suck it up, go to the doc and put your mind at ease.

Chances are its not cancer, but it is NOT something you want to procrastinate on.

I agree with jakb. You need to go immediately.

Don't be scared by the hype with what happens to a few in worst case scenarios. There are thousands of possibilities with thousands of options.

We're here for you, here to help. But you've got to help yourself.

You can still father children. You would just have to have some sperm collected and frozen for future use. I'm sure your doctor would present this option if it came to that. One thing is for sure, dude: you can't have kids if you are dead. Go to your doctor NOW!

this is funny (and i dont mean that in the literal sense) because i also noticed something strange on my left testicle....i dont know what it is but i feel a hard ridgid somethin on one side of it and i try and tell myself that its that thing that connects the ball to the string so to speak...well who would i see if i did need to get that checked? a general practioner? urologist?

See a good urologist. They will know what to do. And, for the record, a lot of time if one testicle does have cance, they only take the one and one is more than enough to give you sperm for children. GS

Yep, gotta go to a doctor, and we all know that sucks. But after its over and your leaving the office you feel pretty good and realize it was the right thing to do.

Guys if it helps out any I went through this last year. I found a little pea sized knot on my left partner. I was more than a little freaked out and kept a check on it for a little while. When it didn't go away I mentioned it to a doctor friend of mine. He looked at it and set up a ultra sound test to check it out just to be sure. The test really wasn't that bad after I got used to the fact that my junk was hanging out. It turned out not to be cancer or anything bad but stayed there for about a year. Just recently I checked and it was gone. I know that it's a little unpleasant to go to the doctor about these things but you really need to go have it checked out. I have some stomach problems and have had more test run on me than I care to remember. I hate to go to the doctor too but sometimes it's just necessary.

I had the same thing happen to me...... Finally went to the doctor and it was nothing But go to the DOCTOR!!! If you find out its nuthing it will be a big relief Good luck man

Dude, suck it up and GO. You have no idea how much you will be kicking yourself in the friggin ass if you let it go and end up getting cancer. You can take care of this shit now, and save yourself lots of stress/pain/anguish in the future.

Had the same on my left but, but didn't go to the doctor right away. Then it grew bigger and I got worried. So I finally got an appointment with the doc. He wasn't sure what it was, so I got sent to the hospital. Turned out I had Cancer in my left testicle. Got it removed later that night. Had not spread to the right testicle, so thank god I got to keep one.

It had also spread to the lymph node on the left side of my stomach, so I had to remove it and the lymph node.

Then I had to go store some sperm in case I got infertile from the chemo therapy coming later.

After this was all over, I don't have any problems really, other than after effect from the Cisplatin chemotherapy that seems to have made my ears hypersensitive to noise, as in making it start to ring(tinnitus).

So, the point of the story is, better check it now just in case, if it spreads, it gets much worse.

Also, might be just something you just now noticed, my dad and brother both thought they had got it after they heard I had it. But was just psychological, and all the checking and squeezing hehe.

Good luck, probably just nothing :)
