My gf shaved my chest awhile back and she really liked the result, and so did I. I use to be all but bare but now i'm really hairy. My question is this, is there another way than shaving you guys have tried that worked out well? I'm thinking about using some hair removal cream, but it says on these product that they should only be used for the legs and armpits. So I don't feel I should risk it until i've researched it some more.

I haven't tried it, but I would assume waxing has the most long lasting effect..

Yeah but it hurts like hell! Forgot to mention that i've tried that too.

The creams have the same effect as shaving. Waxing or using an epilator is the best way. I know it hurts a lot but after you've done it 5-6 times the pain is not that big and you get used to it. One more way to go which ACTUALLY is the best is laser epilation but it cost A LOT. You do it 4-5 times and your hair growth decreases with 90% (max).

Thanks thats good advice. So you have tried the creams on hand? Just thought that the creams would remove hairs for longer time than just shaving.

Well there's this Nair I haven't tried. Maybe someone who has tried it can tell you. But the other creams (I think they're called depilatoire creams) are the same as shaving.

I shaved my chest and I broke out bad and it just won't go away even though I stopped doing it.

Ok i'm just wondering why it says on the box not to use it on your chest, when you can use it in your armpits. To me the skin in the armpits must be alot more sensetive than the chest.

Does anybody out there know much the laser treatment actually costs? I'm not particulary hairy but I'd like to zap what little I have on my chest, underarms, and legs.

I recently started laser treatments so i cant comment on end results. It takes somewhere between 3-8 treatments to see noticeable reduction.Reduction being a key word. You will never achieve 100% hair free status.Approx. 50-80% is what 1 should expect. From what i can tell so far it has worked but im hoping to see "wow" results at some point.

Yes it is very expensive.Propably more here in NYC then elsewhere.Looking at 300-500 bills per treatment. Also depends on the size of the area. The smaller obviously it will be less.

Oh, and just a note laser does not work on light hair(or definately not as well). And the lighter your skin the better it works. For best results an ideal person would have dark hair and very fair skin.

I've been doing some research on laser hair removal for my wife and as Echoes said, it can get expensive. The cost is usually determined by the size of the area to be treated. Armpits/bikini area typically cost $50-75, upper or lower leg ~$175-200, and chest or back ~$200-300. These costs are per treatment and most people will usually require 4-5 treatments unless you're especially hairy. These prices are also dependent on where you're going to get the procedure done. The prices that I quoted are about average for the Los Angeles area.

I was also told that they now have different lasers that they can use if you have light skin/hair versus darker skin/hair. Not all centers will have both types of laser so you have to ask.

I forgot to mention laser is painful ! Especially at high settings which i do to accomplish the most in each sitting. Some of these clinics advertise the feeling as a "rubber-band snap".Yeaaaaaa right ! Not even close. That shit is painful and i have a high pain tolerance.

The nair stuff works just as well as shaving does, gives a better result and comes back like a day or two later than shaving..

I shave my face and my balls, use beard trimmers on the rest of my pubes to tone it back alil; I've way too much body hair to even consider anything else...if a chick don't like it...oh well. My back is hairless thankfully and my chest...I feel, is well-haired...not too thick as skin is still visable LMAO...unlike one of friends..who has Austin Powers beat and its jet black at that LMAO. I use a Mach 3 razor with no probs other than doing it every few days especially before hookin' up with a chick. Some chicks like chest hair and some don't, but if you've got a big MOS dick..what does it matter hahaha LMAO

I'm doing laser treatment now....Its all good. And you can expect 100% removal. Why go thru it, if its not all gone? I actually have spots where the hair is completely gone. My treatments cost $100 per session for chest.

It's actually pretty cheap. I'm getting my beard/neck area done and my chest to start. Each session $100 for beard/neck and 100 for chest.

I did my research. Most facilities have no clue what they are doing. I went to one before I went there and it 4 x the price and hurt like a bitch. This one is less painful and better treatments. Bottom line: go to a place that has lots of experience and have been doing it for years even thoguh it is a fairly new procedure. You don't someone experimenting with a laser and your skin.

I highly reccommend this one.
