Do you even need the strap if you are using the bathmate correctly?

Is the suction on this thing strong enough so that you do not need to support it or does it need the shower strap to become "hands free"?

No strap needed, I have never used mine.

felt a little rough trying to let it hang by itself the first day. i always pump standing up, than lay on my back for 2 min that pump again, in the meanwhile i just hold it with one hand...
