Orestes Bouzon was born in Havana Cuba in 1963. Painting has been a natural form of expression since early childhood for Bouzon. Bouzon was accepted in to San Alejandro School of Arts in 1980. While attending San Alejandro, Bouzon began to see the beauty in the art of life and has developed a sensitive, yet dramatic style. His ability to capture light through the use of vibrant colors and to express varying moods and feelings in his paintings is extraordinary.

In 1994, Bouzon moved to United States. Now he resides in Miami, Florida. His paintings have been recognized throughout Latin America and the Caribbean Islands as well as in the United States.

Born in Torreon, Mexico in 1981 and was raised in Indio, California, Gustavo found his passion for art and painting on everything from shoes to bags till late in the night. Gustavo’s work was inspired by the tattoo world. Gustavo is a devoted father, husband and family man, but nonetheless a passionate artist.

Sarah Joncas is an artist based out of Toronto,Canada. Sarah was born in 1986 in Hamilto, attended school in Toronto, but still consider Niagara Falls to be her home. She received BFA at the Ontario College of Art and Design.

Born 1977 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Alyssa Monks began oil painting as a child. She studied at The New School in New York and Montclair State University and earned her B.A. from Boston College in 1999. During this time she studied painting at Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence. She went on to earn her M.F.A from the New York Academy of Art, Graduate School of Figurative Art in 2001.

Monks’ paintings explore the tension between abstraction and realism, using different filters to visually distort and disintegrate the body. In this shallow painted space, the subject is pushing against our real space. Strokes of thick paint in delicate color relationships are pushed and pulled to imitate glass, steam, water and flesh. “When I began painting the human body, I was obsessed with it and needed to create as much realism as possible. I chased realism until it began to unravel and deconstruct itself,” Alyssa states, “Realism and Abstraction are in a symbiotic relationship – they need each other to exist and eventually become the same.”

These last set of photos are my favorite out of the bunch, they are all truly beautiful exquisite paintings.
