I was benching 320, which i usually do for 5 reps, i get the weight up 2.5 times and then my left pectoral kinda near my rotator cuff starts to hurt real bad and i couldn't even finish my set. I think i strained it but i dont fucking know how. It wasnt like i was doing weight i couldn't handle. Im just real pissed and confused right now. If any one knows what this is, the cause of if, and/or how to heal it id appreciate it thanks

320 on the bench? Gessh why are you asking us for advice?

Just like Penis Enlargement. Take a little time off and go at it again when you know you are in good shape. :)

I never got my bench past 220. I was 160lb at the time. I never worked out my back and think thats why I didn't progress any more. My back started to get painful and yes I was always sure to keep it flat on the bench. :)

appreciate it man. I dunno i actually have never got hurt in the gym before so im just not sure how to handle it

go lighter and switch to dumbells for awhile an injury isnt worth it. my bench was at 300 and I started getting tendonitis in my elbow and I kept going hard and ended up not being able to train for around 6 months.
 
i think i'lll just take a week off, I would use dumbells but the largest the ones at my college go to is 120 and i can rep that 12 times...to me its pointless

yea i pulled my lat around, geeze it was january 3rd.
But i'm still not better because i didn't lay off quick enough.
I was mad as hell because i was doin weight i could handle too and was very warmed up and am young like yourself i'm assuming.
Stuff happens and well just learn from my mistake of not taking a big enough break, my thread is in the bodybuilding forum somewhere if you want to see my progress. I am just not taking a full week off and i hope it gets better from ice and heat, which you should do too.

OH and u said it was near your rotator cuff, i guess you mean delts, shoulders, which part of your shoulder by the way, if you could be more specific. biggest thing for you is to hope it's not a lig or tendon and just a muscle, cause muscles heal.

Good luck with that, just give it time, mentally what i do is just keep thinking muscle memory muscle memory muscle memory, what you lose will come back fast.
 
I always get weird pains when I lift heavey....They swell then go away.
I'd skip that group and ROM that you felt the first pain at for a while. Atleast till the pain goes...
 
Alot of pec injuries have been related to back strength. If you don't keep your support muscles up to par, injuries can occur. Theoretically you should be able to do pullups with nearly the same weight as bench.
 
I hurt my left pectoral and it was near my rotator cuff. I dont think it was due to weak support muscles because I have good lats and lol i thought i had good rotator cuff strength..guess not
 
what be the best way to heal a muscle? Protein (from food like egg whites and shit), carbs, calcium, etc. O and i dont take any supplements so i need like nutrients i could get from food
 
Whats your diet look like now? (how many total calories, how much from protein, carbs, fat, etc.)

Obviously carbs help your body heal, and protein helps you regenerate muscle (in a round-about way) much like Amino Acids. I wouldn't advise you on taking those damn horse pills though lol just eat as clean and healthy as you can...and try not to cut down too much. You might gain a bit of fat, but not in that short of a period of time. Can't think of anything in particular...glutamine helps muscles heal. You can get it from red meats, and some vegetables. But be advised about it...its one of the things (from what I've read) that helps promote the development of tumors. So its not something to supp with all too often.
 
thats just what i read from a few different sources...some say its bs though. i think that only happens if you take a lot more than your body can use. your body makes glutamine as well, but if you work out a lot then you usually use up your store of it. so i dunno...i've read different things. of course there could be some negative research on lettuce as well lol who knows.
