Vagina problems

I have been going out with my girlfriend for about a year now and I have learned about a problem that she has. Every so often she has a problem with her vagina. We're not sure what it is, her doctor has said it was a urinary tract infection and has given her medication in the past but it hasn't done anything to fix it. It sometimes comes around by itself and often occurs a day or 2 after we have sex. When it happens she is in constant pain and it hurts her to hold her urine.
I was wondering if anyone in here knows anyone who has had similar problems or had any experience with something like this.
Sex probably causes part of it and I love her and don't want to do anything that will hurt her, but at the same time she wants to have sex with me knowing that it could cause her pain.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think I read somewhere that if woman do kegal exercises, it can help prevent urinary tract infections...I don't know, it's something you and your girlfriend may want to look into.

I think that because of not caring about cleanliness, especially after urinary act. I am of the view that if do care of cleanliness and rub pubic bone area, after applying water, on regular basis, we never have to face such kind of problem.

Sex shouldn't cause UTI's. There is some other cause. You should look into it. You are not getting the whole story. Maybe she is wiping back to front or something. Whatever it is, it is not your fault and it is not caused by sex.

Anyone else hear anything about the kagels? I think it might work because she is a squirter and when she does she reverses kagels really hard. So maybe if I tell her to practice reverse kagels and maybe even do them when eating her maybe that would prevent a little. I'll also make sure that she wipes carefully. She is very clean though, but I also think that I'm not getting the whole story, just most of it.
Neither of us have been tested for anything but I don't know if that could be related...
I just remembered, over the summer she went to Costa Rica for 4 weeks and had no problems, but when she came back we had sex and 2 days later she was having problems again, and I don't think she has had problems since I last had sex with her and that was over a month ago.

Are you hitting the right hole? Just kidding.

Yea, she needs to go back to the doctor. I doubt that the problem is due to cleanliness, wiping or whatever. I also doubt that kegels would help. though if it gets her to do them...

I assume that she doesn't feel any discomfort during sex. That's weird. Definitely, she needs to have a talk with an ob/gyn.

if she is having trouble holding her urine it could be a UTI..my gf had one and cleared it up herself...the key is drinking lots of cranberry juice...seriously!

yeah, she takes cranberry pills every day and still has problems. she said that she has had it since she was young but we're still gonna get tested. i'll probably do it pretty soon since i'm in college and have very easy access to free testing but she doesn't really. she is relying on the "if you're clean i'm clean" mentality.

I have a feeling that kegals may play a large part in solving this problem. Here is a link that may help show why: Kegals

If the PC muscle in a female isn't strong enough it can lead to urinary and bladder problems, check it out and ask her to try it and see if it helps.

My girlfriend gets UTI's rather frequently and she takes a lot of cranberry pills and some kinda medicine for it (forgot what it was), I'll post back if I can find out what it is.

i usually don't go that hard when i'm in her, usully slow strokes but at times it does get kinda hard. but like i said, she has been experiencing this for years, long before she started having sex.
my girlfriend took antibiotics for hers, but she stopped because she doesn't like putting unnecessary things in her body. that has kept her off the pill for some time now.

This can be the result of a weak PC muscle. Of course there are many other factors, but this is one of those factors.

Ok, so tomorrow I'm gonna tell her about the exercises and how to do them and everything but I don't know how to do it. Should I tell her about the site and that I'm trying to enlarge my penis? Or should I tell her that I was thinking about her and her problem and found something that may be helpful? I don't know. I don't know how she would feel about the penis enlarging issue...

Tell her you did some research on the problem and you found this site while searching. It is the site I mentioned earlier and it explains kegals and why she would need to do it for woman's reasons. This site leaves out any reasons men would need to kegal, so if you don't want her to know about that, that's fine. You could tell her about this site (MoS) as well if you want, but that can be awkward at first so it's alright if you don't want to.

Ok, I'm convinced that her utis are connected to sex. She has not had a single one since I have been away and she hasn't had any sexual contact since I have been away. This is the second time that she has gone a month without me and had no problems.

On second thought, does any one know if condoms with spermicide on them are known to cause stds? I use them every time that I have sex with her and when we have sex it is usually 2-3 times. Do you guys think that using non spermicidal condoms may help?

I've heard of some people that have allergies to latex. The same material used in

condoms, theres even a warning on the package. I'm sure a doctor could check her

for something like that. If so it may be as simple as switching to a polyeurithane

brand. Just my thkoughts.

A girl that I use to have sex with couldnt use spermicidal condoms or a certain type of latex. She was allergic to them. She would have to go to the Dr. after we would have sex. I dont recall the symptoms either, swelling, redness etc. We ended up having to use a different form of condom.

Doctors tell my wife to urinate immediately after sex to prevent UTI's. She's only had them a few times not too frequently.
