We will be working on the server over the next day so there will be down time occasionally so be prepared. Usually any downtime will only last 10 minutes. We will be making changes so expect some glitches. We will come back faster, cleaner and no more downtime. Sit tight, everything will be 100%.
 
You mean I cannot refresh my "New Posts" search in my normal intervals of every 5mins?! Thank god for Angry Birds!

Well it seems it is still running sub-par. We need to look further into it. For some reason traffic is being blocked via stray history files. I have no clue how to fix this, we have people working on it but it was supposed to be fixed and low and behold the forum crashed again. If there are any php/code guys that understand v-bullitan and want to help please let me know.

Yeah it was pretty haywire today! It would seem things are back and running normal again for the most part. It would have only been down for short periods of time like you had stated originally usually that is the case, it is corrected in a matter of moments.

I couldn't agree with you more! With the smallest click you could completely ruin your life, you can't hide from anything regretful in your past its like a way to highlight anything you have done, something you would have never even considered to be viewed as negative and when you least expect it BAM its there to ruin your life. I was watching tv the other night and a commercial was on about wives who were divorcing their husbands with files on their computer from watching teen girl adult entertainment to prosecute them as "pedophiles" as pressing legal charges. Not to mention enough advertisements to consume all the energy on my motherboard to block the smooth flow of accomplishing anything of importance in a respectful decent manor.

Honestly it has its positives otherwise I'd be out living an uninterrupted 3 dimensional life. If I was the computer savvy type I'd probably just know all the tricks and have the software to use an easier system online- but I'm not, have never been. Music has always been my thing and I would show up to the studio and the computer guys would have it all worked out for me. All my money went into instruments, all the people around me have always shared a computer I hope when I get my own it has a little more of the upside.

Thank you for that and you are correct it has been rough, but everything should be 100% by days end.

We have purchased a new, much faster server with a huge ram increase. The new server will be much faster, more stable and a better experience for all. The forum may go up and down until it propagates to new server. We have also hired a full time server expert to help with daily backups, updates, forum glitches, php and database repair, etc. Alex, I think it was you that asked if we operate from a home computer, no we have our own dedicated server, we have had this from the beginning. We pay a great deal of money to keep [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MOS[/words] forums open.

With this said donations will be greatly appreciated. This cost will add more than $450 per month. Remember, all these costs come straight from my pockets, help is always great.

Wow.....sounds like it was a pain in the ass Mike! Sorry it was such a struggle. I'm glad you got it put together and it was a good lesson in patience for all of us.

It seems we have propagated to the new computer and server, thank goodness. This server is much larger and faster and should make [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MOS[/words] stable as can be. Sorry for the last week of outage, it really stunk but now things should be smooth sailing.

Unfortunatly I can only sign on ocassionally until I can purchase my own Pc, I guess I'll borrow the money from a friend I was trying to hold out so I could afford a nicer company. You should all be thankful DLD has this Forum for us here he does is for our benefit and when you see people mistreating or abusing their privilage posting you should stand up for it.

Yup, it has been a rough couple weeks with the down time. I am so happy that we now have the fastest server available with tons of space and shitloads of Ram. Everything is so responsive and fast, worth the extra money. I really hope men appreciate this, it is a big new bill.

Red, we are dealing with an i.p. attack. New CSF Firewall installed last night. Message from server staff:

CSF firewall is installed and we have blocked a bunch of IPs that were flooding your server. It seems to be much better as the amount of flooding IPs have decreased significantly and I can open all sites on your server.
 
Never Fear, it was out for like an hour I would say a little longer I was here waiting the whole time. I thought it was from tagging possibly.

No, some asshole is sending tons of traffic to our site causing it to overload and block access. We are on it and trying to eliminate it. We will get it.

I have a feeling the piece of shit has had membership on these forums and no doubt shadows or lurks here and will read this! I wasn't born yesterday you filthy cunt!!! I have two ideas on possible suspects. Its amazing how sad people can be. These are not hackers, merely simple script kiddies who use hackers toys to perform a flood to a network. Its easy to do actually which is the scary part, no genius has done it.

If your reading this than I hope you have more fuel in the tank because that was pretty pointless what you did. A real hacker would manage root acces and post something across the page but you :) just flood a few. Get a life and a job fuckhead.

Not really but I did find out why things became so fucked up. Only an administrator can see this but it is some slimy shit these spammers are doing. One guy managed to post over 10,000 blogs in hidden mode on the Blog section of the forums. They were hidden via the user so all 10,000 links were sitting on our forum pointing at theirs...fucking bullshit. It took me 12 hours to manually delete each blog. I have set up Blog moderation for any further posts. I am, however, happy I found this issue as now we know where to look. I have also complained to Vbulletin about this hole in their software.

Yeah those spammers are like demons from hell but I am glad we can catch them and ban them unlike people in real life. I was thinking how cool it would be if I could just ban some people from my neighborhood.

I deleted them but then it did not leave my "moderation tools handle" (lower right screen above page numbers) it still says 11 selected. I am not able to see the blogs but my mod tool still recognizes it.
