NFL picks for the weekend of Oct. 23th. Make the call!!!

Okay fans, help me out and have fun breaking down these matchups:

PITTSBURGH @ CINCINNATI

DETROIT @ CLEVELAND

INDIANAPOLIS @ HOUSTON

KANSAS CITY @ MIAMI

GREEN BAY @ MINNESOTA

SAN DIEGO @ PHILADELPHIA

NEW ORLEANS @ ST. LOUIS

SAN FRANCISCO @ WASHINGTON

DALLAS @ SEATTLE

DENVER @ N.Y. GIANTS

BUFFALO @ OAKLAND

TENNESSEE @ ARIZONA

BALTIMORE @ CHICAGO

N.Y. JETS @ ATLANTA

I have more great news. Someone at work has started a pool involving some college games. Mostly top 25 teams with a few locals (Pitt, WV, Penn State, etc.) whether ranked or not, from what I understand. I think it might even involve the point spread which would make things interesting. Anyhow, I'm getting involved tonight and I'll post the matchups later.

As always, thanks for all your imput.

PITTSBURGH @ CINCINNATI

If Ben Rothelisberger is good to go and so is Ward I'll go with Pittsburgh, but I am not sure yet so I'll say I'll come back later in the week with my pick.

DETROIT @ CLEVELAND

God. Detroit. Cleveland. Does it get any worse than this game...lol no it is a better matchup than it has been in recent years. I'll go with Detroit.

INDIANAPOLIS @ HOUSTON

Okay. If David Carr...no. The Colts win this game by 3 TDs.

KANSAS CITY @ MIAMI

I'll take Kansas City.

GREEN BAY @ MINNESOTA

I'll go with Green Bay and Favre. Favre has a big day and Daunte doesn't.

SAN DIEGO @ PHILADELPHIA

I'll take San Diego in a close shootout. Something like 28-34.

NEW ORLEANS @ ST. LOUIS

St. Louis can win even without Bulger against the Saints but it's the Saints. They've been doing this to fans for years. Just when you think man they looked good last week we forget how bad they played in previous weeks. I'll go with St. Louis overcoming Bulger's injury as Deuce isn't healthy for the Saints.

SAN FRANCISCO @ WASHINGTON

Washington rolls against San Francisco.

DALLAS @ SEATTLE

If Julius Jones plays I'll take the Cowboys in a close game. The defense has been getting tremendous pressure on the quarterback the last 3 weeks. D. Ware looks like he's getting comfortable in his role on the team. D. Ware records 2 sacks this week. It'll come down to getting to Hasselback and stopping the run will be "easier" if the Cowboys can do this. Scott Shanle and Bradie James also have big games.

DENVER @ N.Y. GIANTS

I like Denver in this game even though Eli has really showed strong performances at home. I don't think he's won away from home, but hey I don't care because that doesn't mean he's unbeatable at home either. Denver gets chunks of yards as the Cowboys were able to do only Denver won't turn the ball over as they haven't turned the ball over in 17 quarters of something crazy like that.

BUFFALO @ OAKLAND

I will go with Buffalo, but I can see L. Jordan having a huge game. I'll still go with Buffalo because I think Randy Moss is hurt.

TENNESSEE @ ARIZONA

I'll take Tennessee. Arizona might be due so to speak, but Tennessee could have won a few games that they haven't and they look like they are an improved team with McNair healthy.

BALTIMORE @ CHICAGO

I'll take Chicago. I like Thomas Jones and the Bears defense. They thrive off of turnovers and score off them as well and the Raven will turn the ball over at some point. 13-10 is the final in this one.

N.Y. JETS @ ATLANTA

I'll take Atlanta in a big win.

Yeah, I agree with a great deal of what you said.

I may go with Philly. I don't know if McNabb has healed up. The Charger secondary is a little suspect and I could see T.O. having his biggest day since the San Fran game earlier.

I am sort of inclined to go with the Giants. I think they'll be determined to win after fighting hard and losing last week. Manning does play well in the Meadowlands and I just can't believe that Jake Plummer is good enough to keep this show going every week.

Yeah...who knows. lol

McNabb might put up huge numbers and so might L.T. Who wins out in that battle? It might be wise to go with the home team there.

I don't know. I hope I do better than last week if just for "pride." lol

Well, I haven't been here for a couple days and didn't get to post my picks.

I'm up one, having taken KANSAS CITY over MIAMI. As I'm watching this taking it all in, my other picks are:

CLEVELAND over DETROIT. It's mostly the homefield thing.

GREEN BAY over MINNESOTA. Minnesota sucks.

INDY over HOUSTON. I'll say nothing.

ST. LOUIS over NEW ORLEANS. I messed up here. Both teams suck this year, thus far. But had a known Bulger wasn't playing, this would have been a no-brainer. Now I've dug myself into a hole.

PITTSBURGH over CINCINNATI. The call was based on Cincy has beat some weak teams the past couple weeks as has not looked as impressive lately. Pittsburgh has owned Cincy on the run, though Parker has not done anything dynamic through the first quarter. I think Pittsburgh will be more hungry, given what happened last week.

PHILADELPHIA over SAN DIEGO. Not being a true expert, I felt Philly could stop the run, but they have struggled against the run this year. I messed up here and I'll be fortunate to get a win here. The hunger factor means little as both teams will be hungry for a win.

WASHINGTON over SAN FRANCISCO. 49ers can't win.

DALLAS over SEATTLE. Dallas is a little banged up and Seattle is slightly favored. Most of the office went with Seattle, but Dallas has been red hot lately. I think I might steal one here.

CHICAGO over BALTIMORE. Bears has a big win last week and the Ravens are really stuggling.

OAKLAND over BUFFALO. Buffalo has still not impressed me that much this year and winning at Oakland will be a more daunting task than beating the Jets in Orchard Park.

GIANTS over BRONCOS. This is a pick one. I think the Broncos might have exhausted their luck, if one can believe such a thing and the Giants are tough at home. More people went with Denver, so this again presents an opportunity to steal one. Sometimes you have to look for those, as it doesn't much matter in a winner-take-all pool.

ARIZONA over TENNESSEE. Arizona's offensive stats in a recent game impressed me and Tennessee is rebuilding that defense.

ATLANTA over N.Y. JETS. Easy pick.

OK. Cowboys fans...I have to say this one was a jaw dropper at the end...everything felt inauspicous from that missed field goal by Cortez. To lose a game like that....fucking disgusts me. Take the damn shot down field on the road when overtime is all but locked up? That fumble recovery at the 9 the Cowboys had and to not come away with points....this is the first game I've ever questioned Parcells and Payton. I hate them right now. That was a hell of a way to let your team down. The defense played their asses off considering the offense was obviously going coservative and couldn't stay on the damn field not to mention get points. FUCK!

ok so you know. Cortez sucks a fucking dick. Why you think 49ers cut him. He's been cut from 3 teams now I beleive. Not traded cut cause he misses the high pressure field goals. No idea why the cowboys got him they need to get a quality kicker.

Ok look at this New York Giants, 49ers, redskins, vikings, now dallas. This guy sucks why is he even playing? 5 teams in 7-8 seasons is pathetic. He misses the important field goals I have seen it happen. He has missed quite a few close ones for dallas too they wouldda beat washington they wouldda beat can't remember the other one but he missed 1 inside 35 easy and was WAY WAY WAY off. That's dallas's weakest point in my opinion right now I hope they cut his ass and get someone quality.

I lost the pool. I finished by picking 10 winners, whereas two other tied by picking 11 winners. All of us have Atlanta tomorrow, so it would have been a non-factor.

The Cowboys are what fucked me. Both of the guys one game ahead of me had Seattle chosen. I can't believe Bledsoe through that awful interception at the end too. Didn't seem like he was under so much pressure he couldn't have done anything else. Before you guys are too hard on Cortez, remember there is a reason why Bledsoe has been through two teams before this venture.

I would say that Thompson's last kickoff return was the biggest fucking reason the offense was trying to make something happen there at the end. It was the worst thing that could have happened. I mean I'm looking at the irony here. I'm obviously not saying anything about Thompson because only idiot would think a team lost a game BECAUSE of a huge kickoff return.I'm just saying Parcells usually will just look to hold onto the ball and head to over time esepcially on the road. I still say that the Cowboys play calling when they started that drive at the 9 of the Seahawks after that punt return was fumbled was what killed the Cowboys. If you can't get in starting at your opponents 9 yard line you can't expect to pull out a game that was that close. The Cowboys defense is something to see though. Had Julius Jones been healthy I don't think the Cowboys look back at all in this game and blow the Seahawks back down to earth. The Seahawks will ride this win though, but they are not a better team than the Cowboys. Julius will get his rest this week and next and come back to tear the lucky ass Eagles a new asshole. I blame this game on Payton, Parcells, and Cortez who I hope is cut this week. Another thing...who the hell are these fucking kickers we face? The past 2 years kickers have missed 2 field goals TOTAL against the Cowboys and are Penis EnlargementRFECT against us at Texas Stadium???? I don't even know who the FUCKIN HELL Seattle's kicker is? The Cardinals could sign me this week for their game against the Cowboys next week to be their kicker and I'll go 3 for 3 and hit one 50 yards out.

Damn I still can't get over the way this game ended lol. That long snapper situation needs to be addressed or something. Cortez is a below average kicker, but we've got an inexperienced long snapper as well that needs to take some blame for Cortez's missed FG. God damn this though...lol Till NEXT TIME SEAHAWKS! TILL NEXT TIME YOU BASTARDS!

yeah bledsoe actually has some talent though. I mean when he's on he's on but cortez is shit

Yeah, Cortez is worse, as evidenced by his firing today. Bledsoe just made a stupid-ass play. I could even understand it if they were driving to attempt to tie the game, being down by three, as one would have to take more chances in that situation. But you can't lose your head when you're all set to head into OT. It was really stupid of him to throw to anything that wasn't open, or he just really fucked up the throw. All I know is when I was watching it on my TV, I didn't even see a receiver in the picture.
