I wanted to pipe in on measuring for progress and what I wish I did differently in the beginning.
If you really want to measure length improvement do BPFSL. EL varies more, and NBP anything varies more.
Whether it is for documentation or just personal stats I think you will find much value in keeping records of this measurement.
I am no old dog by any means but really have found this to be a great tool and when you document pictures (if you do this) it is far easier to tell progress.
Just be sure and do it parallel to the floor standing (or whatever you do be consistant)... and pull that bad boy out!!! I see pictures from time to time that the head looks too intact to have really been pressed to its max length.
