Many of you that have a [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words] have seen the videos showing how to clean the release valve. I'm going to tell you how to clean the whole spring assembly. If your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words] has been loosing pressure or little air bubbles keep coming in your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words], then this will most likely be of some help. You'll need a couple items. A 2 foot piece of 1/2" inner diameter PVC pipe, an electric drill, and a 5/8" drill bit.
Now this process means you will have to break down your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words], so if this scares you then go to another thread of interest. If you want you [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words] working like new again then by all means keep om reading.
Inside your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words] is a rubber "O" ring that holds the spring locked in place. In order to clean it you will have to push the assembly out. Once you have the three items required you can start. First hollow out one end of the PVC pipe with the 5/8" drill and drill bit. Then squirt some soap inside your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words], [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]X-40[/words] or [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]X-40[/words], and push the spring assembly out with the non drilled end of your pipe. Once it's out clean all the parts and rinse the soap out of the body of your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words]. Now you have to reassemble the pump. Leave the end cap off and put together the spring assembly. Drop the "O" ring in and line it up with spring housing. Now use the drilled end of the PVC pipe the push the "O" ring back on. That's it.

Excellent post and very helpful as I have heard a few people talk about how to clean their unit. Great directions.

Do not forget to clean inside the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98]gaiter[/words] rings. A lot of dirt there!

Good point! If a lot of buildup happens around the gator you will lose pressure.

I would be happy to shoot a video for all you [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words] enthusiasts. This really is the best way to get your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words] working like new again. The only problem is I don't know how to post videos or pics. I'm sure it's as easy as cleaning a [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words]:-) I have an iPhone so know I'm probably halfway there already. Any tips on how I can get this done for you guys?

You can send it to me and I can Youtube it and post it here for you. Send the video to [email protected]

Thanks for you enthusiastic additions!

Did you end up making the video? Cause i see people having the same problem with their [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Bathmate[/words] and instead of going through all the trouble of returning and stuff they can do this.

I will try to make the video sometime this week. It's really simple to do. You need a hollow pipe 5/8" in diameter. That's the inside diameter that the spring assembly will slide in when you are putting the O ring back on. 2 foot long makes it easy to apply the right amount pressure.

Is it possible to do this without having to drill anything, or could someone make pics or a video of this?.. Would be great 'cause my [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]Hydromax[/words] releases airbubbles and I read this would fix it.

Hey guys!! My [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98]bathmate[/words] came apart with the spring popping out and the o-ring as well. I was trying to get the O-ring back in place but ended up tearing it because of the spring. I understand most of the instructions but don't understand what I have to drill. I have a [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98]Hercules[/words] that hasn't given me any trouble until this incident. I was going to pick these things up at a local Home Depot
DANCO O-Ring Assortment (14-Piece)-9D00080788 - The Home Depot
VPC 1/2 in. x 2 ft. PVC Sch. 40 Pipe-22015 - The Home Depot

Thanks for the help in advance!

The drilling is done to make the inner diameter of the pvc pipe just wide enough that the valve can slide inside of the pipe. Once this is done it's easy to use the pipe to push the "O" ring back in place.

Thanks for the replies. DLD the video you posted has different assembly than mine's. The one I have has the spring assembly and the ring sits underneath it, and helps seal the pump once it pushed in. Chas I am pushing from the top & not from the gator side correct?

been using the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98]bathmate[/words] for the last two weeks or something and yeah i have noticed some air bubbles...hope i wont need to clean the whole device,i really dont want to break my [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98]bathmate[/words]..........

Just pump some hot soapy water through pumping it against the bottom of the tub. Take about 5 minutes to clean it properly.

did anyone ever make a video for this?
having the same problem
cleaning with soapy water did nothing

EDIT: figured out how to do it.

basically all you need is a broom or dustpan (the one that has a long handle) or as OP mentioned a pvc pive with specified dimension opening
View attachment 33445

1. Take off valve cap and valve switch

2. add some soap inside your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words], towards the O ring (this will act as lubricant)

3. stick your broom/dustpan inside your [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words] and push on the valve/O-ring
the valve body and spring should come out the outer side

4. Clean up everything

5. Throw the O ring back inside the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words] and line it up to the opening of the small hole at the end of the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words]

6. Holding the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words] upside down, put the spring in and then the valve body on the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words].

7. its best to sit down during this part. use your thigh to push down on the valve/spring

***The reason I use a broom/dustpan is becuase they usually have caps at the top you can take off and you'll get an opening that should be roughly the size to fit in the O ring into the Valve body.

8. As your pushing down on the valve body with your thigh, use your broom/dustpan/pvc pipe and push down into the O ring slot on the valve body.

Hope this helps some of you guys in the future. Seems be fix my O ring problem

The valve/pip will pop-off by prying a small, flat-tip screwdriver...while you have it all apart, ditch the valve and replace it with The Vacuvin :)

you mean the valve cap?
wont it still allow air in because of the lose O ring though?
looking at these modification pictures i can see that the wine-vacum is placed over the actual valve and not the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words] body, that small gap is where the air gets in

hey thx, but looking at the modification pictures i can see that the vacuvin is place over the actual valve and the the body of the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words], that small gap between the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words] and the valve is where air gets in through the O ring

If you remove the valve completely, the VV stopper fits neatly in that space...all you need is a rubber 'O' ring to hold it in-place while it's upside down during filling

There are so many tutorials on this, we need to make them more obvious I guess.

do I hear 'video'?? This sounds like a job for Baldy :) (if for no other reason than to hear him speak...and maybe drop a UK slang or two)

I don't have a [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words] any more Big, it got lost when I moved house. By the time I get a new one there will already be a video available. Maybe you should do the honours, you're the [words=https://officialhydromaxpump.com/?uid=6&oid=2&affid=98 ]bathmate[/words] king around here.

my video skills are essentially nil, zero, nada...no experience. I do have an iPhone7 that has decent capabilities, tho

It's definitely better than my phone. I'm sure you're more than capable Big.
