Hey DMAN, if you're absolutely new to the
weight training game keep just a few simple rules in mind:
1. Work your body from the bottom to the top, or from the center out. Until you get more adept at training.
2. ALWAYS warm those muscles up with either very light-high rep resistance or better yet some cardio/aerobic work.
3. Stretching each muscle group immediately after working it yields fantastic results.
4. Diet, as noted by [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]
PA[/words] above, is a critical component to your health. As Dr. Lendon Smith would say, "Only eat food that rots...but eat it before it does!"
5. As with everything else in life: Focus...Focus...Focus.
6. It's called "Progressive Resistance" for a reason; your brain will always lift more than your body...listen to your body.
7. Your body actually builds during rest...no rest=no build.
Your gym, the library, hell, even the 'Net here all have great info available to take you as far as you may want to go. Keep exploring, get to the gym and don't hurt y'self.
Oh yeah, one last thing; sometimes the hardest part about workin' out is just showing up!
Good Luck !
