Hey, guys I don't know where to post this but I will lay it on you anyway. I am in my early 20's and I still find it hard to talk to the opposite sex. I am not sure if it is anxiety I mean nervousness or what, but I am mainly a loner if this is the right word to use.
I have read all the pick up literature and some dating advice but never really pushed myself to talk to women who I find attractive. I really get nervous in social situations and don't like to be crowded in big groups, or sit next to people I don't know. If I get to know someone for a good period of a time I am pretty much a chatter box.
I do work at a big grocery store and I am not scared of talking to my co-workers or male friends but with women it's almost alien to me especially if I find them attractive. I do talk to others especially if they ask me a question or talking to me about something they need, but with women in general I turn red in the face and blush if she is attractive and say ok to hopefully end the interaction.
I will admit there are a couple of girls at my work I find extremely attractive and would like to talk to but don't know what to say or how to start without choking up. And, when I do find a girl attractive or not something like anxiety pops in.
Has anyone have any advice been down this boat as well?

Confidence is basically what you need. I use to be like you when I was 17 and then everything changed when I was 18. I learned about PE and got bigger and i just generally helped myself mentally by thinking what is there to be shy about? Nothing. I started thinking why was I shy before? And there was no answer to that. I just didn't know. Now I don't care what people think of me which was what I figured out on why I was shy. You're afraid of what people will think of you. In this case you're afraid of what the girl will think of you perhaps. It's what happened to me and seems normal until you learn to become confident in who you are and think about "well what is there to lose by talking to her?" You don't lose anything.
