The way I found around that, was using less pressure, shorter sets. Between each set doing manual work, and then back into the pump again.
If you can get something in the future with a gauge on, like the MityVac, it will be more productive, as the bathmate, while being helpful, doesn't give you any idea on what pressure your working with.
Staying in 3-5HG is fine, ample enough, and in time working towards 7HG is plenty.
