As Sikdogg mentionned, Aminogen is a digestive enzyme that boosts protein digestion. When you eat too much proteins, you usually fart and that's uncool, and that also means you are wasting protein, that's way more uncool.

As the website says, it can help boost digestion by 20%, which seems exagerated to me... also my protein blend has less than 25 mg of aminogen per 27g protein, and that's not enough looking at what the website says.

you need as much as 50 mg per g of protein... that's a hella big qty hehe... I guess the more you take the more you break down proteins... or does it act faster than the body produce it's own enzyme, and woul just replace the body's own enzyme, and finally, just be useless if not taken in good qty?

But I was wondering... is that usefull, or is it overkill to break down additional proteins? could more protein in the blood affect the liver or any other organs... Why would every bodybuilder NOT use this as it's quite a primary function to digest proteins...

I was thinking about taking a pill or 2 with each shake I take. I'd buy a big qty because it costs about 9$ on eBay, but I guess I could arrange a deal... Might save on shipping at least.

Many questions there, hope to hear from you soon :)

Too much protein (80-150 grams is OK for long-term consumption...higher is OK for short-term consumption) puts strain on the liver and kidneys. Moreso the kidneys, and I don't care what all the bodybuilding websites say about "only if you have kidney disease"....the proof is in the pudding...err, bloodwork. I have had extensive bloodwork done to confirm that range I gave for protein intake. I weigh 165 pounds, but I doubt that range would increase substantially for someone heavier...maybe by 20-30 grams at most.

I am not exactly sure what Aminogen is, whether it is a carboxypeptidase, chymotrypsin, trypsin, trypsinogen, etc. I take pancreatin (Solaray), alfalfa (Nature's Way), and Peppermint Plus (by Enzymatic Therapy). Not only does this combination aid in protein digestion, but it improves your breath, soothes the bowels, improves your body odor tremendously (the other day I got finished working out and was asked if I just showered!) and completely eliminates gas. I would certainly suggest this trio to anyone with any of the following symptoms.

The peppermint plus is the only expensive one. Costs about $20/month. The alfalfa and pancreatin are very cheap.
