Look up the nylabone tug toy @ nylabone.com..........or look up rubber dog tug .......for an indestructible power assist............

Where is the rope how you supposed to use your legs its plastic the PA is made with Ash wood but if it works then yeah:rocker:
 
So tie a rope loop onto the larger triangular end............how hard can that be . If you sit on the triangular end and pull yourself through the ring and up, this gives an incredible stretch, no rope is needed really . This is a very inexpensive item and has no chance of breaking . There are others on the market that I havent tried .........but I might!;)

Great alternative! The PowerAssist is the Mercedes but if ya can't afford it this is a great Grey Hound.
