Thought I'd share a little artwork with yall LMAO
Pic 1 is just a blank canvas with a few layout markings
Pic 2 is the composition sketch with the background basecoat

This tiger is on 24 x 36 canvas in oil paints and what has been done so far has taken me about an hour. I estimate the entire piece will take aprox. 35-40 hours of work...it's already sold, so don't get your hopes up. It'll be awesome to see it come together.....to be continued :s

NBEL= 6.8'' or so...I've less than .25 inch of a fatpad.. Check my pics It looks like I got alil fat but it's mostly from the way I'm kinda reclined in my desk chair takin pics. I'm starting my exercises up in full force cause I wanna look good for the summer and lose all this winter chub. I'll keep adding progress pics to this painting til it's done, might do another tiger (close up head shot) for my next, probably some pink flamingos though; a friend of mine in NYC wants one (female). This tiger sold for 575.00 dollars so I'll definately be workin on it... Artist

Dats an awsome painting guy, I like the shading.

Keep at it you're amazing.

Thanks, that cat was a pain because it's 24 x 36 and my reference photos were only 4 x 6 but the area of the photo that I painted was like 1 inch by 2 inches within that photo if that makes since. It was commissioned for 475.00 dollar; it would've been 500.00 but I stretched that canvas...saving me about 25-30 bones. LMAO

yeah that's definitely some awesome stuff! I don't have much, but you can check out my DA page if you want: DeviantArt

It's hard to make a living painting; that's why I'm in college for Graphic Design. All of the stuff that I've done have been for people who know me (somewhat) or know that I can draw...then again...I've never really tried to actually market anything. Everyone tells me that I could do it, but a painting like "that cat" takes like 40 hours....over a month's time...for me anyways cause my style isn't wet on wet like Bob Ross hahaha so I have to let the paint dry before I can move on.....oil paints can take a week or more to dry. It's nice to see the finished work but in the end...to do a painting like that and not have it sell.....sucks. My professors though, tell me that when I graduate from college...Ima gonna bank......because Graphic Designers who are good..........will bank big. I've talked with GD's who make 150k a year+ and they said that I'm way better than them already...I just have to get a degree..which sucks because 75% of the classes I have to take have nothing to do with Art whatsoever...It's all about that piece of paper wit my name on it. It's funny as shit because during critiques at school my teachers and classmates are like "Ohhh, I like how this does this and how you set this up for this and how the eye goes from here to here" and I'm thinking "WTF, I just get high and paint what looks cool/good, I spend no time setting shit up or thinking too hard on how to (draw people into my work)..I just do it" I don't smoke weed anymore though....not that I won't ever again, just need a break from it. I'll be working on my tiger pic tomorrow and put up another pic of progress when I finish for the day. LMAO I'm glad yall think I'm good, cuz I think I suck...same with my metal guitar playing....but that's a whole notha talent... LMAO

Aight, so what I've been doing after the black base was dry enough was start to block in the background roots and bushes/leaves etc of the river bank, form some rocks and dead branches at the water pool. Everything but the Tiger and waterpool will have a softer focus (kinda blurry) because I want the Tiger to be really crisp and clean which will push everything back and you will hardly pay any attention to it. Once the bright ass oranges and whites are in the tiger it'll look fucking awesome...trust me; also when I surface the water and the creek bed (where the tiger is standing) by adding white "fluid-like" highlights to give it an overall "wet look" it'll really look awesome. The reflection of the tiger in the water will really help to the depth of the piece and yall are gonna be like :O LMAO . Still needs alot of work though as this is really just getting started. Looks kinda shitty now because I'm taking the background over into the actual tiger but when that shit dries it'll be like butter over that shit. Enjoy...more to come ;)
BTW: Digital Pics just don't do this mofo justice..I can't wait to get it complete..I'll be LMAO all the way to bank..

What I've done in this session is began the Tiger. I threw up some oranges and browns to define the tiger and striped her in brown. The stripes will be thicker and in black...these are basically guidelines. After I restripe her a few times I'll work on the details in the head and give her an overall furry look, especially around the edges. The background is still wet as pussy so I gotta wait a day or so before I put the water details/reflections/highlights in that shit. The details is like putting icing on the fucking cake..I can't wait, I love doing details and shadows. I think it's looking really good for my 1st attempt at a Big Cat. What yall think? Notha 15-20 hours prolly and this bitch is money in the bank. Artist

Started working some more on the fur by adding in some darker oranges and darkening the stripes. When that dries somewhat I'm gonna finish the tiger completely with this kickass orange I mixed and make it all nice and fluffy. After that, some water work with reflections. It's gonna look sweet with this topcoat of new orange I made..everything here is pretty much a basecoat type deal so I don't have to paint each hair which would prolly take 6 months LMAO

Said it before and I'll say it again, you got some skills.

You will do good doing graphic design. You can also teach yourself the program and do web design for companies and such instead of getting the degree. If you do get into web design I can point you in the direction of people with money that don't have time to build their own sites and such.

I know this girl that does graphic design and designs adult sites. Makes probably 500-700 a day but constantly works. Charges high prices and people pay because the quality is good. Enjoys what she does so it's getting payed to have fun. Find a job you like and you'll never have to work a day in your life.

The internet is a great place to make money, take advantage of it.

thats tight. Did you goto school for that?

I started in private painting lessons when I was six, under a master artist; that was 18 years ago. Took every art class in public schools and was an advanced student. Now I'm taking graphic design in college. LMAO

This tiger is a little over halfway complete BTW ;)

I'm considering getting into web design, but as far as not finishing school, I've gone too far to stop. Might as well stick it out. ;)

Oh ya I don't blame you. Just saying for what ever reason what I suggested is a good back up plan.

Or when you do get out of school you could get a job paying you in salary or what have you and also do web design on your spare time. That way you can save the money you make working and use the spare time money for spending.

Almost done, I think these latest photos came out a tad blurry but yall get the picture. Its at the stage where "I sleep on it" and look at it with a clear head and maybe do some adjustments.
