Today I had to put my precious cat, Mokey, to sleep. I have had her since she was a baby and she has been with me for the past 19 years. I am so sad and lonely. She sat next to me everyday during my long days on the computer and slept next to me at night. I am heartbroken <:(

Very sorry to hear this dld.
I know how you feel, even though she was a 'animal' she wasnt.
I've had pets which have been SO CLOSE to me, including a rabbit which died at 10 years of age...I have a Cockatiel now who is nearly 7 and I have had that bird through the rough hard times and he sat on my shoulder through the pain and kept me company. I LOVE that damn bird to death and if anyone ever hurt him I would kill them, no hesitation. Nowadays he spends alot of his time with his Girlfreind, shes nearly 4 years. So we dont talk as much, but still the bond is there. I know how you feel.....when [Dread the day] my freind dies than I shall be so upset....he isnt a bird in a cage....hes a freind, and one who is alot better than any fuckin human I ever knew. At the end of theday everything sadly dies.....its LIFE. Dont be sad, think about the GOOD HAPPY times and have pictures so you can remember your freind. Its not the end of the world and you cant let yourself slip down into a void, especially with your condition - no disrespect. HAPPY TIMES will overcome the sadness and with time you will cope.

Sorry to hear about your loss, DLD. Does this mean you're done with getting any pussy ever again? :(

Im sorry DLD... maybe.... buy a new one...?

This is kinda wierd but today in science class we disected cats for the first time.... funny coincidence

sorry DLD, i remember when i had to put my dog down, it was about 10 years ago but my god i didn't cry more in my life...well i can't say that. but it's still burned into my head...god i miss that lil fur ball :( i feel your pain DLD, sorry for your loss

Man, D, I am really sorry for your loss. Last year (Feb. 26 to be exact) my cat died. He was only 10 yrs and 5 months. I had him since he was a free kitten. His name was Cleitus Ray. We had that bond you're talking about. It really sucked being in the middle of my first year of law school and having moved here way away from my family and friends. I wouldn't suggest going out and getting another one right off the bat. I did that and the new cat just isn't the same. They have their own personalities.

I really miss that cat.

Sorry for your loss, DLD. This has been said about three times so far, but ill say it again. I know how it feels to lose an animal that has been so close to you it's like your best friend. My dog, (RIP buddy), Patrick, died two years ago, and I was just devastated. I would sit for long periods of time just petting him and chiling with my dog, and I loved him a great deal. He was the best friend I ever had, and I'm not ashamed to say that. He was with me through the good times and the bad, so it was tough. I just would remember(and still do remember) walking through the door and him bounding over to me. It's the memories like that that get you through these hard times....

My condolences DLD, I have had to put my Gray Tiger down awhile ago and He was my bud! I know how you feel.

I wish I could play taps for you.

DLD... I'm sorry to read about your loss. I have a 19 year old cat as well. When she goes I will probably cry like a baby. Last year my 13 year old cat died and I cried harder than I had in years. My wife and I gave it a few months and then adobted a kitten from the pet store. The new kitten has energized the older cats and brought new life into the family. You are very fortunate to have had your cat for 19 years ... that is a very full life for a cat.... Hopefully your cat is in cat heaven telling all that other cats about the wonderful person you are.... best wishes

Hey DLD I have a a simanese cat and a dog, the dog is Appsolapso x shitsu. The cat we Spooky because as soon as anyone blinks he is off like a shot. The dog is name Rusty. I have enclosed a picture of the two, sleeping together. You are right and if I may so, very Human to have a feeling of loss. I know that I would feel the same if anything happened to either of my pets.

Yea, I feel ya bro. Sorry to hear about your loss. Helped my mom bury her cat a couple years ago and it was a sad day for me too. We get so close to pets, because they become part of the family.

Sorry to hear that, man. I know how it's like to bury a pet: I've had 4 pet rabbits, and each was its own individual with a unique character. If feels like a knife twisting in your heart when you lose an animal companion that you've come to care about so much.
Stay strong bro: the pain is only passing, but the good memories you shared never fade. :)

R.I.P Mokey.

Hey sorry to hear about tha loss... I remember I had my cat Smokey who was 18 when he passed away on my brother's 11th birthday. I truly feel your pain, it sucks to lose a loved one. Pet or human.

Sorry D, an old cat went peacefully, cant wish for better than that....

I accidently shot my own best favorite cat a year ago, <:( (yeah, fucked up scenario, trust me).....This cat would actually come hunting with me and my buddies, it was so cool, to bad it turned out to be a bad thing....

itd take a couple nukes dropped to get me ballin like that again

sorry to hear about your cat dld....i am not really a cat person..but i know after a long time with a pet they start to feel like a person....or family...and after 19 years i know you felt all kind of feelings for her...

My condolences DLD. We have an 11 year old chocolate lab and a 13 YO cat. The lab is spunky, happy, and loves to run, but she is becoming incontinent. We've tried a few different things. The Vet said to try Immodium, but didn't work. Pets were easier when they were babies. It is sad. We don't know if we will have pets again when they are gone. It is very hard when they get old as they do become family. Nice to see so many of your friends are with you.
