I made a post a few weeks ago about getting virus problems when trying to read any post made by Red,a few other people said the same thing.I'm not saying the problem is down to Red by the way.

Well its got to the stage now where i can only read about half the threads in the forum, when i click on a bad thread the page starts to load then i get a high risk virus alert, the page stops loading and then freezes and i can no longer read any post made,i have to turn my pc off and restart it,i post on a few other forums and i'm not getting any problems with them.

I don't no why this is happening but hope it can be sorted out.

If you reply to this thread and i don't its because i carn't,if anyone else is getting problems can you shout up.

My computer I use for web surfing is an old piece of shit that uses AVG virus scan some guy referred me to. Personally, I think it's shitty stuff, because this computer runs so slow and I cannot imagine that my computer is virus-free but the scans always yield nothing.

This is an old Compaq with windows 98 I bought back in early 2000 and I've hated it ever since. I bought Norton back at the time and the problem is that Norton would scan my incoming Outlook Express e-mails and block them from getting to my inbox. Now, I'm pretty computer illiterate and I'm sure there would have been a way to remedy the settings, but I didn't know how. I took Norton off, because I figured it was a useless program if I couldn't get my e-mail. I did figure out how to keep Norton from scanning my incoming e-mails, but I figured that since so many viruses are spread by e-mail this would again be pointless.

Right now, I have four PCs and one Mac, but only two of the PCs are worth a shit. The oldest one pretty much died out on me. My friend offered to fix it up, but it's just sitting downstairs for now. I don't believe in putting much effort into fixing up a 233MHZ, 2 GB harddrive, 32 MB ram, 16x CD reader drive computer. I don't believe in selling them without removing the harddrives.

At some point, I want to buy an inexpensive eMac or iMac for nothing more than web browsing and e-mail as it will be much less susceptible to viruses.

Funny, I get this at times as well. Nortons dings this site quite a bit. I was about to start a thread as to if anyone else gets this.

kooky

Yea I am getting this all the time to now. At first it was doing it with REDs posts, think it was something in his signature. Now it's doing it with threads DLDs posted in. It's making it impossible for me to use this forum. Really getting on my nerves. I use Norton too.

PA...I am having the same. I called DLD and told them about it. Have not had it happen today. Your explination is exactly what I was facing. The one that I had a virus hit from all the time was blabla182. That is where they came from several times from me. I think some of these new members/posters are infected. Anyway, nothing today so maybe it is fixed. Hope so. GS

We are on this today. We will be getting our web guy to take a look. Anyone else having problems please post here.
