I really enjoy this forum, but I cannot any longer participate if I keep getting notifications in my e-mail that tell me "Penis EnlargementNIS ENLARGEMENT FORUMS NOTIFICATION"... you have a reply!

For goodness' sake, folks! I have a family, I have other people perusing my e-mail occassionally! Please. The only way I can belong is if I do so anonymously.

So.. How many of you guys want to be automatically notified that the Penis EnlargementNIS ENLARGEMENT FORUM wants you to reply to your post????

Just wondering, here.

Check out your

User CP --> Edit options --> Messaging and ..notification? Change that to NOT receive those emails.

This is an option that can be disabled via Usercp. Here are the steps: Usercp, edit options, messaging & notification, default thread subscription mode, change setting to no email notification.

There ya go, no more email notification. Stick around this is a great place,

BTC

Thanks, BTC and CHI. I didn't know to look there, but now I've made the changes and clicked the button to save the changes, so we'll see how it goes. Appreciate it a lot.

... if your options have been properly configured ...

YOU HAVE JUST NOT RECEIVED A Penis EnlargementNIS ENLARGEMENT FORUMS NOTIFICATION!

:O :p LMAO ;)

You're lucky. My notification hasn't been working and I would like to receive those bulletins as it cames me aware of discussions I'm having here.

OK, You are welcome to take all of mine. Go back to the User CP item on the menu and use BTK's procedure to fix it.

Now I supposedly "fixed" mine last nite but still got "notified" again this morning, so we'll see if perhaps that was just a "hanger" (huk huk).

Stop and smell the roses, sometimes we find what were looking for but it is always good to ask when our smelling is off:D

I e-mailed JAZ and re-registered when the link he sent me. Mine still has not been fixed. DLD, if you read this, can you please try and remedy this for me if there is anything you can do?

What is worse, in my situation as a moderator, is I am not being notified when users report threads.

I thought about this last night after I replied. If it is the privacy issue you're concerned about, but enjoy the benefit of knowing when someone has added to a thread you've become involved with, then set up a web mail free address and add the proper address to your list, so it doesn't get lost in spam filters. Try Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, or any others that you may be aware of.

Great idea. But right now, even after I saved the changes to the User CP option , I am still getting these replies to my regular e-mail list. Apparently, it isn't working.

Could you or someone please look into this? This is a very important aspect of my being able to continue. Thanks for everything.

Until someone sorts it you could turn all notifications off and just click the 'New Posts' link at the top. It gives you all the threads with new replies since your last visit, there's very rarely more than 2 pages...

also, when you post scroll down and make sure "Thread Subscription" is set to --> Notification Type = Do Not Subscribe or No Email Notification just in case.

I don't want to see anyone not continue here because of this. Perhaps you should add the notification automated e-mail address to your Blocked Senders list if there is no other solution. That might be them back at MOS, but clearly the e-mail notification is fucked up and has not been working smoothly for all users for some time now.

Where do I find the blocked sender's list? I've looked through the options and in Users CP haven't yet found anything that looks like it would contain a blocking feature.

No that would be something done in your e-mail program itself. It varies by e-mail program. For example, in Outlook you go to Actions then Junk e-mail then choose either Junk Senders List or Adult Content List, if I'm not mistaken. I think that will automatically rout them to another folder, much like a spam folder. At that point, you can blame them on junk mail, should your wife ask, and you ought to be able to go in periodically and delete them permanently.

Thanks, penguinsfan. I have a hunch that this is the only way it can be done, and I credit you for it.

The forum's controls don't work yet. I bet that's taken care of in a few weeks, though. Others have also said the same thing. At least now we all know that these switches don't work.

So if you get mail bounced back to you, it's not because I've taken my marbles and gone home. I'll use the "New Posts" to see if I have any replies. Crude, but good idea.

I think it would freak me out if I didn't get penis enlargement spam in my inbox. :D

I think you could easily configure your email client to filter out these messages as spam if you just tell it that they are spam.

Let me know if that works out for you. I'm sure there is some way to do it using your e-mail's filtering options. You might want to ask someone you know that is pretty computer savy, as I'm generally not that guy.

I too hope this gets resolved at some point. I miss the ability to just open my e-mail and see what discussions I've gotten involved with have seen action since my last time online. As I mentioned earlier too, I don't get notifications anymore of threads reported to moderators. If someone wants to discuss something they finds questionable or offensive, they'll need to PM me unfortunately.
