Hi all does anyone on here take anti depressants? And if so do you feel they affect your EQ and libido?

i was on Sertraline for about 10 years. getting erection was very hard or getting aroused. Once its up though you can go forever it seems but not ideal. I finally came off them after my marriage was crumbling due to me just unaware emotionally. My new Doctor mentioned if i got reaccessed every year and said I never did. they just refilled it. I wasnt depressed for the last 5 years taking them as my life personally was great, but mentally i was a zombie. I finally came off them in October and it was horrible how I started feeling everything. My erections havent returned and my brain is mega whacked even to this day after stopping via tapering off in October. They are made to never get off, just my two cents. But on them by erection and being able to get one via my brain was hard. Off of them I ejaculate after about 1 minute and have 0 control because my brain is all over the place. Everyone is different but its hard on them and off. If you are depressed then a medical person can diagnose it but its up to you.
 
I'm on Amitriptyline which is an anti depressant but I'm not on them for that. I take them for constant headaches, thinking of coming off them to see if it makes a difference,
 
Yes I take a huge cocktail of medication for depression. If you get the formula right it will not cause sexual issues. With that said it took me a good eight years to find the right cocktail. It’s all trial and error until you get the right combination
 
Gonna wean off mine and see if any difference, problem is I'll need to go doctors to get something new for my headaches

I never thought I would ever say this but I will never go off my medication. The combination they have me on is perfect for me. As I said it took about 20 years to get it right LOL but they didn’t get it right. I haven’t had issues now for more than three years.
 
Anti depressants can raise prolactin levels, Prolactin is a female hormone which can mess with your testosterone, maybe could be cause for poorer eq..!✌?

I have excellent EQ and I’m on a huge cocktail of medication. But you’re correct in some of the anti-depressants can really hurt EQ. For those who cannot stop taking medication due to mental issues and you’re having issues with EQ make sure you tell your doctor so he can switch you to another medication that does not fuck with your sexuality so much.
 
Week off and glad I did, hard to say if helped EQ as jumped on Taladafil. Had few headaches so will see what else I can get for that

So it was just one? I’m taking like 10 so I think it’ll be very hard for me to come down without at least going to the hospital. I’m glad this is working for you.
 
You should watch you prolactin levels, 10 is most likely going to raise prolactin (female hormone). You'll need dopamine agonists to lower it.

I do, I’ve been in SSRI’s on and off for years! I blame my brain chemistry for being given fluoxetine (Prozac) when I was suffering bereavement at 20. I’m currently on duloxetine and have been for six months.
