Zoloft

Is anyone here on this stuff besides me?

I couldn't really tell you if it works. I've been on it for about three or four months now. I don't even remember.

All I can say is, I'm still depressed, and this shit has broken my libido. I can still get it up, but lately I'm just not interested. I don't even jerk off anymore. I think I masturbated maybe 2 weeks ago, and haven't thought about it since.

This shit sucks, man.

Not only does it not really do much (I don't feel any different), it also gives me a monster tolerance when it comes to other drugs. Basically, it's a lot harder to get high.

But it's really the libido thing that's worrying me. It's not that I'm impotent, I just don't think about sex as much as I used to. When it comes to girls, I don't really "go for it" anymore. Just not interested.

I guess I should drop this shit. I'm not sure if you can just "stop" taking Zoloft. I don't wanna go on a suicidal rampage.

It would be very unwise to abruptly stop zoloft or any other ssri type medication. Taper it slowly, perhaps even slower than the doctor would recommend. You'll probably get withdrawl symptoms as you lower your dose and there may be some latency between the time you lower your dose and when the withdrawl effects hit.

I'm on Zoloft currently. As a matter of fact, I've done numerous cycles throughout my adolescent years, but the problem was that I stopped taking them too abruptly each time, so the effects wore off and the depressive mindset returned.
I must say that Zoloft is by far the least aggressive antidepressant I've tried so far when it comes to side effects. I had some mild libido problems at the beginning of my current cycle (I went on it sometime last fall), but they have diminished to the point of being barely noticeable. Other antidepressants such as Cipramil etc have given me horrible nausea and drowsiness, so I think I'll stick with what seems to work for me.
The way things are going, I'll probably need another few years of non-stop medication to get my head straight. I'm afraid I'll just slip into a dark, sad state of non-existance if I quit taking them prematurely.

Dude, I know sweet FA about any drugs, legal or otherwise but have you ever considered that the "fun" drugs may be the ones giving you the blues?

Ha ha ha ha

No man. The depression's always been there. And it lasts longer than any stash of anything I've ever had.

Are you just taking that for depression? Have you tried and alternative to those drugs? Would you read this real quick..When we are sedentary the biological action of tryptophan is blocked by an excess of the branch-chain amino acids. The result is depression in your brain. Why? You need serotonin that is manufactured from tryptophan- to prevent depression from taking over the body physiology. That is why drinking plenty of water can cure depression-better than drugs.. If I were you, I would start there.. I'm no doctor, I just read alot for my business..Hope this can help. I have alot more info for you if your interested.

The only thing Zoloft did for me was make me have insomnia like a madman.. Oh and it was really hard to beat it too. I wasn't interested at all. Some Luvox should be coming to me really soon and I'm gonna take it for a little while, we'll see about the results.

Tryptofan, if used alone as a suppliment, has also been reported to cure depression in many cases, or at the very least, alleviate the symptoms dramatically. It is also an over-the-counter drug as far as I'm aware.
I'm going to get my hands on some of that as soon as I get the opportunity.
It might be worth trying out.

Call me crazy but I don't understand how taking some pill is really going to make you happy. You need to find out whats wrong with your life, for Godsize it may be getting high to much or whatever. I mean everyone gets down but taking these meds could just be masking the real problems.

I-Tyrosine
- Mood elevator/brain function
- Reduces body fat
- Aides in the function of adrenal glands, pituitary, thyroid

I believe this alone may help. It all really depends on the (mg) they actually put in the product. It's hard to rely on these companys anymore.

Well, I believe for most people some therapy or something would probably cure it right up. It's about having the right mindset and everything. For others however there probably is a chemical imbalance that they can't control. My girlfriends mom for instance has a hormonal disease that completely fucks with her.

A buddy of mine was taking this and he really didn't like it. I take paxil and it is working really well and doesn't break your libido unless you are on a very high dose. I highly recommend trying it.

Paxil and Effexor are the two hardest ones to get off supposedly if you need to stop them.

Paxil isn't addictive but it will screw you up if you just stop taking it. If you slowly get off it supposedly you'll be just fine.
