When to take supplements

I take l-arginine and lysine and was wondering when is the best time to take them: empty stomach, after a meal, before a meal, during a meal!!? Also, my multivitamins and vitamin e capsules- though i usually take those after a meal so i dont get an upset stomach.
 
Thanks poet, anybody else know more about this? Maybe have a little of the physiologicals (did i just invent that word?) behind when you should take your supp.s and vit.s.
 
It depends on what you're taking, of course. I mean, you don't want to take stimulants before bed or sedatives before sleep. What stuff are you taking, specifically? What goals are you trying to achieve?
 
I take:
1 gram- larginine \ These two I take twice a day
1 gram- lysine /
2 multi- vitamins- one has all kinds of herbs and stuff in it the other is reg.
vitamin e casule once and a while
