Weird taste in my mouth/throat

Hi guys, I'm wondering if any of you have experienced this.. I have this reoccurring taste in my mouth/throat.. it tastes like smoke, but I'm a non-smoker. I have no idea what it could be. It seems to appear mainly when I'm reading or counting. Is my brain burning or something. lol

My mother is a smoker, but she smokes outside, so it shouldn't be that..

I get this too and I have always thought it was acid reflux. It is a sweet, smoky type taste that starts in my mouth and continues down my throat. It happens sporadically when I am well and more often when I am feeling under the weather.

Do you guys happen to drink alot of carbonated beverages and less/little water? I have a theory, but that is all it is.

DLD, thanks for the reply man... glad I'm not alone! I'll do some more research.

Jakb, I don't drink that much carbonated beverages... I have about 3-4 cups of coffee a day, and I drink tons of water.
