Trouble using a generic 'bar' type PE device

I have a penis extending device, you know, the one where you add bars to it. I dont know its generic name... I have a problem when using it:

I cant stop myself from getting an erection whilst using it.

As you are supposed to be totally flaccid whilst using this device it gets really annoying.
If I could maintain a total floppy then I could use it perfectly! But thats just not the case.
