Switching Hand Position For Jelq

Yesterday when jelqing I tried something new. I jelqed normal for 5 minutes then switch my hands over so I could see the top of my hand. It helped me grab at the base more and felt like I was getting more blood to the head. I switched it up every 5 minutes. Any thoughts on the effectiveness of this?
 
Yes, there are two basic grips for jelqing- palm up and palm down. I'm surprised you have not read about this before. Good for you, though, for trying something "new." I do nearly all of my jeqing palm down.
 
Another aspect of Jelqing is this: use one hand to press into the base on the right side and pull your penis with the other, using the okay thumb to base. Pull out on your penis, release and go back to the base and over and over with one hand. the hand at the base, keeps the blood pressed into the penis. it is a wonderful and good jelq way. GS

So you hold the same hand at the base constantly and then changing the base-hand every once in a while? (sorry Englisch not that good, just to make sure I interpreted it rightly).
 
Yes, you pull with one hand clear to the end of shaft, to glans, release and go back to base, it works, you will find it really a good jelq. Do it to the side, then switch. GS
 
overhand grip, reverse grip, whatever you call it, I like it. It isn't as tiring on the forearm muscles if you have a weak grip (so it allows you to do high reps day after day) but it isn't better in every way than standard grip...for one, you can't see your penis, which is not a good thing. But overall, it seems to put more emphasis on the head and ligs too.
