Set a new personal best today!

Figured I'd share my fitness story of the day. I've been getting pumped for a week to try 405 lbs on squats, well... today I faced off with it. I managed to get 2 reps and almost a third rep, half way up the third rep my legs failed and I went to the floor with the spotting cage catching the weight for me. Never being satisifed I did 365 for 4 reps after this since I didn't reach my goal of 4 reps @ 405 lbs. I'm going to reduce the weight and go for extra reps for the next 2 weeks then face off with 405 again in 3 weeks :) Wish me luck, I'll need it being as I'm 5'10" and 180 lbs vs. that kind of weight :P

It's pretty cool that you can do any reps at that weight. It's really heavy, especially for someone that is less than half the weight of what they are trying to lift. Good going! Good luck for in 3 weeks time.

Thats my goal for 1RM. I'm at 265 as working max now so it will take some time.
Good job man. Any special routine that you do, or just make it up as you go?

Wow! You are very strong for your size!
I can't squat more than... well, let's not even get into it. :D I should do some powerlifting someday.

My big lifts are all done the same way, I use the principles of the Max-OT system. I start out with a light warm-up weight for 6 reps or so, then do a moderatly heavy weight for 3-4 reps, then I do as much weight as I can do for 4-6 reps -- once I hit 6 reps I increase the weight to where I can only do 4 again the next week. I over-estimated on the squats, hence only 2 reps and me drawing back the weight for 2 more weeks :)

I also only work a body part once a week, I used to do them twice and that was causing me to over-train.
