One month:

Alright, and the deal is as follows: I've got one month before I'm throwing what I hope will be a rather large party. As goes without saying, I want to look my best for this, which means putting on a bit of muscle and losing a lot of fat. So here are my questions regarding this:

  • What would be a good, fairly safe diet to go with to lose as much weight as I can in a month's time?
  • How much weight can I hope to lose in a month?
  • How much weight can I EXPenis EnlargementCT to lose in a month?
  • Are there any good 'tricks' for accelerating weight loss?
  • Is there a way to lose fat, and not muscle?

I'm already scouering the boards at T-Nation.com and BodyBuilding.com for viable diets. I was thinking about doing the Velocity Diet from T-Nation, but I have no idea how much something like that would cost. Actually, that's the biggest restrictor: Not the price, but not knowing the price. Here are some links to try to get your opinions:

The Velocity Diet: Part 1
The Velocity Diet: Part 2

Additionally this is going to be my *attempt* at a workout schedule:
Ten minutes of hardcore cardio first thing in the morning to increase my metabolism.

Sunday: Weighted Tai Chi 1hr
Monday: Weights: Chest and Back 1/2hr
Tuesday: Weighted Pilates 1hr
Wednesday: Weights: Core 1/2hr
Thursday: Weighted 'Balance Ball' 1hr
Friday: Weights: Legs and arms 1/2hr
Saturday: Weighted Yoga 1hr

I know the weight lifting days seem short, but I'm in terrible physical condition. 1/2 hour will be hard work for me.

So anyhow: Opinions, advice, pricing? All would be welcome!

basically...

Dont expect too much too soon.
Your body is a reflection of your lifestyle, ie if ur a fat unfit person, you undoubtedly eat the wrong food and dont exercise properly.
Fitness is more about consistency than random bursts of effort.

Saying that you want to look great in a month for a party is fine, but dont expect to look like brad pit off of snatch. You'll only dissapoint yourself

What you should be saying is that you want to get fit and healthy, and to look your best.

BTW any fad diet or weight lifting program is bollox and wont work.
Just eat healthy and lift weights properly three times per week and take up a sport, like football, soccer etc.

Find a way to enjoy what your doing. If you dont enjoy eating healthy, lifting, Penis Enlargementing or whatever, it will only last so long.

You probably dont like what ive just told you because it doesnt give you the result that you want.. but if you think hard and are true to yourself you will know it to be true.

Good luck mate, there will be a party in 6 months from now and you will look awesome given you adapt the right life habbits.

What you should do is;
1)eat healthy. Dont worry about protein, carbs etc. Just eat meat, veg, fruits, etc. Limit sugar salt etc. you know whats unhealthy.
2)join a gym and devote yourself to going three times per week. If you cant join a gym, do pushups, situps, running, etc.
3)Take up a sport that requires alot of cardio -- eg soccer.
4)Make sure you enjoy doing steps one to three no matter what, if you dont you will decist doing it.

If you find yourself giving excuese why you cant do 1-4, then you arent enjoying it and perhaps you were just meant to be fat.

You most likely will not be able to change your appearance in a month. What you can do is change your lifestyle. One of the hardest things to do is to make the choice to change your lifestyle. Be sure not to set your goals too high, as this can become overwhelming. Do what jubei has said. Incorporate these changes into your lifestyle and it will become addictive.

OK. The Velocity Diet will work, but it's going to be REALLY hard to stick to. I can't think of tougher diet, I'd recommend T-Dawg 2.0 instead. I've already lost nearly 10 lbs in a week, and most of that is fat (and water from switching to low carbs). It will be much easier on your wallet too. For me, the V Diet would cost a little over $320/month because I'd be using 10 containers of Low-Carb Grow!, 1.5 containers of Surge, 3 bottles of regular strength HOT-ROX from ebay (much cheaper than max strength on T-Nation, but not quite as effective), flax seeds, and a month's supply of fish oil caps. The T-Dawg 2.0 diet should cost less than your normal grocery bill (fewer carbs, etc). Check out my cutting thread, this is what I'm doing right now. It's also good to follow a diet like this because you'll get into the habit of counting calories and grams of carbs, fat, and protein. This habit will come in handy when bulking later. Take some HOT-ROX, as you may be able to even build some muscle while losing fat. Check out Christian Thibaudeau's transformation article:

For your workout plan, you're trying to do too much. You need at least one day per week completely off. Try a 3-day per week full-body program, with your yoga, tai chi, and pilates on off days if you want them. I don't know if you're currently doing these three programs, but there are better options if you're wanting to seriously cut. I'd say, on your off days, do the high-intensity cardio. So maybe weights MWF, interval training T and Sat, and take TH and Sun off, or do some moderate cardio or your yoga, etc. on TH (but off on Sun still). Here's a good article on high-intensity cardio (again by Thibaudeau):

It's hard for me to recommend a specific lifting program because I don't know your training experience. But hopefully this will give you a few ideas to think about.

Alot has to do with where your starting from. If you dont drink alot of water, start drinking at least 100oz a day and within a week your body will stop retaining alot of water (probably at least 2lbs). Buy a food scale and watch your portions. Regardless of diet, to loose a pound you must burn 3500 calories. best approach would be a combo of eating 200-300 calories per day then you burn and adding exercise that will burn and additional 200-300 calls per day (20-30 minute brisk walk). Doing this will result in a loss of 1-1/2 pounds per week mostly fat. 4-5lbs of fat doesnt seem like alot but people will notice the differance, not only in size but you'll start to look healthier.
