I think Atlanta vs. NE Pats in the Super Bowl, NE Pats win.

That said, I wouldn't be upset if the Steelers win today, I just don't think Roethlisberger will be able to get it done vs. the efficiency of Brady... BUT any of the 4 remaining teams could do the deed. I just hope to goodness that Philly falls flat on their face (after all they have a tradition to uphold). Being a lifelong Cowboys fan, I hate the Eagles. I don't like the Steelers, but I respect them. The Falcons are OK, but I'm no Vick fan... I'm more of a fan of the traditional quarteback as opposed to the mobile quarterback. Personally, I just don't believe a quarterback can be as effective in his role if his #2 option on his progression list is to tuck the ball and run. I think McNabb is a good QB. He does his job in the pocket, and tucking and running is usually not something he does unless he is flushed, but when he is forced into that situation, he has the athletic ability to get more yardage than most QBs. I just think he is more of a traditional QB with great athleticism, as opposed to a great athlete who happens to be a QB (like Vick, IMHO). Too bad McNabb plays for Philly; I just can't root for him. That said, I think Brady is the best of the bunch because he is solid. You don't see him make many impulsive decisions at all. He's supremely consistent and efficient. I wish Dallas had him.
 
Texan, I agree with your assesment of Vick's abilties, but my own preference for the quarterback role is whatever gets the job done.

While there are certain hallmarks of quarterbacking that necessarily come with the position, I think the traits of ingenuity, leadership, and undeniable playmaking are also more abstract charcteristics that are worth considering. The qualities can of course be expressed in different ways. I enjoy watching a game run by the type of quaterback you've described, but I can't write off Vick as just a fast guy with some some good eyes for the field.

I'm sure that being a law student you've had old Hart's revision of legal positivism thrown your way. If it makes any sense at all, the recognition of morals and legal foundations as more than just happenstance is about tantamount to what I think of Vick as a QB.

I support the steelers, have done since I was 10 years old.....go fuckers go.
I aint US but since I started watching NFL on channel 4 I always liked them and Kansas city.
 
FUCK, I aint a yank but I really REALLY love the fuckin steelers....bastard twat I didnt get to see it either, the fuckin TV here is bollocks and aint showing it. I hope NE DO NOT win it.....whos left?
 
it's down to the philadelphia eagles and the new england patriots...everyone has the pats as favorites...but i am going to stick with donovan and the eagles...they still don't know if terrell owens is going to play and chad lewis (TE) is out for sure
 
Without Lewis and Owens as he is, I say it's an even match and I'm pushing for the Eagles. McNabb has the playoff experience (plus he's theman), and they're looking sharp.
 
Go Pats...CRUSH the fuckin' Eagles!! No offense to the Philly fans, but I can't stand the Eagles. Terrell Owens is such a ball-hog show-off he will play unless his leg is amputated- you can count on it. You really think he's gonna pass on the opportunity to show his ass on the world's biggest stage? No way. We can only hope he further aggrivates his gimpy ankle that ROY WILLIAMS of the DALLAS COWBOYS fucked up for him. Again, sorry guys, I know that sounds unsportsmanlike, but 1) he spiked the ball on the Dallas star at midfield after a touchdown a few years back w/ San Fran, 2) he now plays for the Eagles... the resident babies of the NFC, and 3) he's the biggest loud-mouth ball-hog in the game. I think he and Randy Moss compete to see who get the most press by being a total jackass. I hope his legs get broken... completely off. And his jaw gets broke so he can't talk shit. Honestly I hope he does play, so when the Pats win, he can't talk shit. Cause if the Pats win and he doesn't play, TO will be saying he could have made the difference. And that's a slap in the face to McNabb and Westbrook, and co. Considering that, he may not play, because he probably knows that the Pats are gonna pack their shit, and he doesn't want to be on the field when it happens.

I didn't think Philly fans and Pitt fans swapped over... I thought that was kind of like the Yankees/Mets thing... either one or the other.

I don't even think it's possible to offend a Birds' fan. As a former season ticket holder from the 700 level of The Vet, it's actually refreshing to see fans from the other NFC East teams being as passionate about their team as we Philly fans are. I know quite a few Dallas fans, and they always seem to disappear when the Boys don't play well.

On a side note, when the hell are The Tuna, Coughlin and Gibbs going to get their teams back to respectability in the NFC East? It's been like taking candy from a baby the past few years for the Birds. The once mighty NFC East has become the NFC LEAST.

Gman, I'm a life-long, die-hard fan of the 'Boys. Unfortunately, you're right about the sad condition the Cowboys are in. I am not at all impressed with Parcells. He plays to win today instead of building a team for tomorrow. This season was fucked early on. He should have scrapped Vinny and played Henson and Romo and took the ass-kickings in exchange for a better draft pick. I think the only thing he cares about is his personal win-loss record.

Gibbs has wondered aloud in the press as to why he came back. Todays premadonnas are unmanageable- at least for a guy like Gibbs (who I think is a great coach and have utmost respect for). Coughlin is doing good things in NY; Manning got some good experience and they will be on the rise for the next couple of years. I don't see that for the Cowboys (they want Vinny back next year- WTF!?!), but I hope I'm wrong.

The Eagles will go down in embarassing fashion to the Pats. McNabb has proven he has the remarkable ability to totally crumble under pressure and in the face of a really good team. Hell, he almost gave one to the Cowboys. Regardless of the outcome, I will be happy if TO gets seriously fucked up (not dead or paralyzed- just permanently put out of the game). That's it for me- a Pats win and/or a debilitating injury to Terrell Owens. Could they both happen? Santa should come so early.

By the way, I agree; it's good to have a NFC East fan to talk trash with.
 
The PATS will beat the Eagles. The biggest reason is they are the better team. You can't take one guy away and beat them. You have to beat the whole team. The Eagles are not complete in anyway. Even with TO they weren't complete. They have never been a force running the ball, and not to mention that Westbrook has never carried the ball more than 18 times in his entire career, they won't be able to handle the Pats D. The D will be keyed on Mcnabb getting pressure in his face, and taking away the deep ball to Mitchell and Lewis is out for the game so one down already. The Pats have already beaten two of the top three teams in the AFC, number one being the PATS, and they will be thoroughly prepared to smack the Eagles around. Just look at what Coach Bellichchick did to Manning and Rothelisberger, not to mention shutting down the Steelers run game. You guys crack me up when you say the playing field is even now because the Eagles have a few guys out. The playing field is never even when you're the defending Champs. Ohhh, and by the way the Eagles are a 6 point dog. I wish them all the luck, but the PATS are the best team in football...
 
millionman, the line is now up to 7. I have to agree, the PATS are one hell of a football team. But stranger things have happened in the NFL, especially in recent years. I think the Birds have a shot.

They're not a force rushing the ball not because they can't, but because Andy Reid doesn't like to run the ball all that much. They may not be near the top of total rushing yards, but when they do run, their yards per carry are well over 4 YPC. So, they CAN run the ball.

Westbrook averages 4.6 YPC. Even missing two games and the Birds supposedly not being a rushing team, he managed to get 816 yards rushing this year. Oh, and he also had 703 yards receiving. So, he gets 20-25 touches a game and averages about 116 yards of offense a game.

Losing Lewis hurts, but he wasn't a big part of the offense this year. L.J. Smith will be fine as the starting TE.

Their defense has really come around since the beginning of the year. They once again were near the top of points given up. They were the best in the NFC, even with giving away the last two games. Before those last two games, they were top in the NFL in points against. They give up yards; just not points. This is a defense that just shut down one of the top offenses in football, Minnesota, and then the mighty Michael Vick. I believe the 'Vick yards' total was -3 yards. They also held Atlanta, the No. 1 rushing team in the league, to 96 yards.

Like I said, the Pats are a damn good football team; but so are the Birds.
 
There's a huge difference between the two though....that being the fact that the Pats are a complete team up and down...doesn't matter who's playing or not they win... The Eagles lose Kearse and Trotter up front the defense yields... the secondary for the birds is outstanding...and I have to say that if it weren't for the fact that the Pats beat the absolute living crap out of the Colts and then the SteelersI would say that the birds may have a good shot of knocking them off.... but as it is right now the PATS are the best team in football and deserve more respect than they have gotten all year. I got so tired of hearing about the Colts and Peyton Manning, and then the talk about the Eagles in the NFC...the PATS have just gone along winning 98% of their football games the last two years...I mean give me a break... ohh and they fact that the Eagles D shut down Michael Vick gets a big whoopdie doo from me... he's one of the most innacurate passers in the game... He's a fantastic athlere but if he gets frustrated and the ends keep contain then he's not unbeatable.... I would have paid as much as it took to watch the Eagles play the Colts instead of the PATS... I think it would have been a great match up... that secondary vs. Peyton and his receivers.... would have been interesting indeed.... but the PATS will keep rolling along.... it's what they do... it'll be a good game.... but it's hard to see them not win this game.... You also have to take into account in close games what happenes to McNabb??? He disappears....Brady is a proven winner period.... doesn't matter the situation.... He's the difference maker as usual....

Lol, I'm a Dallas fan and Florida Gator fan (wish I would have got in...god damn grades...anyway) but yeah I can't stand any team other than Dallas lol...I hate the Redskins the most, but the Giants, Eagles and 49ers I'd like to see get beat every game for sure. But to my point The Eagles...eh I can't root for them, but I'm tired of New England. I just can't get into the team. I don't like them. I can't explain it. I guess I'm a hater when it comes to the Pats. I'd have liked to see the Steelers win it all or the Falcons, but then again I don't like the idea of the Steelers catching the Cowboys and 9ers as the only teams with Five Super Bowl Victories. Side note, what do you think and or want the Boys to do in the draft?

I'd like to see them get Erasmus James from Wisconsin with their 1st pick, but if not him then hopefully Rolle will miraculously slip down to us lol, Mike Williams would be nice too, but he will be gone I bet before 11. The second 1st rounder I'd like to see them hit up a safety or a cornerback or even a linebacker. lol Corey Webster or Carlos Rogers looks nice to me...if not them Marlin Jackson...I saw all three play with me living in the midwest (Jackson of Mich) and being able to see some more games on the Game Plan. Either way I doubt the Cowboys draft a quarterback unless someone falls in their lap. I was thinking Campbell from Auburn could end up being a steal for someone, but who knows. Two other guys I'd like to see the Cowboys get with their 2nd round pick if they have the chance...Mike Nugent K from Ohio State or Travis Johnson DT of Florida State.
