Firstly let me say that Mike Mentzer is one of guys that inspires me the most in the fitness genre with his way of thinking and how he has managed to change ways of thinking in this usual one demensional way of thinking world, in which bodybuilding and weightlifting rests in.

His HIT methods were and still are called, even though countless people incl me have gained brilliantly from them without performance enhancers :)

Okay than well this thread is to discuss Mike Mentzer and his HIT methods and is for fans more than anything and not haters.

I do not want this thread to be a hate thread or full of naysayers as its in other fitness forums so clear off to them and post badly about the man.

This nextlink is on Youtube and is a large collection of Mike Mentzer Video audio seminars as he explains allot of things.

VERY interesting and what he says makes perfect sense, more so if you try it.

I'm going to post some routines that Mike Mentzer had his clients used incl me with great results and also the one Dorian Yates used back in the early 90's when Mike coached him.

Thanks for the summary Red.

I totally agree with him and I have been feeling much better by only exercising 1 or 2 times per week.

I've gone up 30lbs in my bench press yesterday and thats from not doing them for just over 5 weeks!!! Yes in that time I have managed to increase the bench press by 30lbs. I was stronger, it felt good and I look good.

So for me what Mike Mentzer and Arthur Jones preached and did is the best for myself than doing it eachweek.

I've known many people take several months to increase the bench by 10-15lbs and thats going the gym daily.

I benefitted greatly from following Mentzer's HIT system, after having stalled in gains for years. Also, if you read his books, you will see that his sytem is very well thought through. The man, while not infallible, was very intelligent and insightful.

A friend of mine recently commented that Mike was a small guy haha but forgive him as he's more into the new wave of body-builder like Dorian Yates who are mutants with monster muscles, which are allot larger than Mike was but guys like Mike .. back in the old days was to me anyway, what body-building was about and they actually looked good without being freaks ... Mike was a pioneer and innovator in what he did that's for sure.
