I'm sure that you've been watching the news, or at least know someone who does. As such I'm sure you know how many people are suffering and how much damage has been done. As it stands it seems like there's too much pain for any one person to do anything. That's not the case, that's not the case at all. YOU can help! Even if you just donate a dollar or two, it'll go a long way. A dollar is a bottle of water for someone who hasn't had anything to drink for four days, or a sandwich for a child that hasn't eaten since their house was flooded.

Even if you don't have a dollar to spare there's something that everyone here, hell, everyone alive has to offer: Blood. It sounds morbid, but there's a huge shortage, and litterally everyone who donates can save a life.

Please! There's something that everyone can do! There's something that YOU can do! Even if it's just telling someone close to you how they can help. I'm including some links and phone numbers, so that if you're interested you'll know where to look and where to go if you want to donate.

Yes that is right. I am doing jack shit to help the people in New Orleans but at least I admit it. There is nothing I could do to help those people anyways.

I can tell you right now you send your money to RedCross and we'll see if it ever makes it to those people.

You do realize RedCross still hasn't released money that was given to them after 9/11 and the Tsunami? What makes you think your money is going to be released this time?

And FEMA? well I wouldn't give any money to an organization that would herd me into some "disaster facility" when Martial Law is declared.

I got my gold, I got my food and I got my guns. When the next "Natural Disaster" strikes or "Terrorist Attack (ie CIA suitcase Nuke or Warhead)" hits I will be prepared with REAL money food and weapons. When the American dollar is completely devalued and all other countries try to sell off their bonds creating a worldwide economic collapse and oil reaches $150 a barrel.. I will be prepared.

Where will you be? Sucking your thumb? Waiting for the government to stand down and FEMA save you? Oh! I know! you'll be waiting for your box of money from the RedCross to help you through your troubled times. Too bad that if the box of money does show up the contents inside will be completely worthless which is what paper money really is.

Im sorry but I stand by everything I said in that post and wouldn't be surprised the least if it happens. I do know for a fact that it is going to get worse.

Everybody sits and twiddles their thumbs and feels like they are making a difference by giving dollars to a organization that will gladly take their money and laugh. Such corporations dance like fools for opportunities like this to take the money from the yuppies who don't really care but think they will have the image of someone that does after they donate.

All you can do is prepare for yourself so you can actually help your friends and family when shit hits the fan.

The victims of Katrina are becoming spread all over the country. You can find and directly help these victims in almost any state.

In Texas, we have showered them with love. Sometimes almost smothered them. We have many in the north Texas area that we are helping directly.

I actually pretty much agree with Duppi on this Red Cross thing. I may give a small donation to the Salvation Army, but I will not donate to the Red Cross or its affiliates such as stormaid.

Well, I'm from New Orleans and it's hard to come up with any solution for anything. Since my childhood, we knew that this day we come sooner or later. But we always dodged bullets. The fact is that no one knew how it really is in New Orleans until now. My high school is or should I say was right in the middle of the Ninth Ward. I just went back for Thanksgiving and was blown away by seeing the devastation for myself.

Look these people lived off the government. They have to take responsibility for their actions.

It's really sad how things were handled. I was telling my brother when I drove back with him to his home in Houston that the city would be forever changed. The New Orleans that we knew from our childhood would never be the same.

And I'm getting sick of hearing these fucks that are saying that the government blew up the levees. What a crock of shit. This is how it is there. We knew that if we got a storm this powerful, there would be no New Orleans. Shit, the storm could have been worse and the city would literally be a lake. The levees were not powerful enough to withstand such a storm. I know, my parents house is a block away from one of the levees. Can you say, "under sea level?"

I am ashamed at our government. Iraq is more important than our homeland. Fuck Bush and fuck his administration.

Sorry if my rant makes no sense, but I could write pages on the effect this has had on my life as well as my family. That's how it is down there, it's all family. No one leaves. I hate to say it but it's a good thing I left a year ago. Cheers to the most historical city in the U.S.
