Great Breakfast and Super Shake to Try

I just made this for breakfast with some modification :)!
I only made half of the recipe to give it a shoot:
 • 0.5 Avocado
 • 1 Tablesp. Chia Seeds
 • 1 Tablesp. Flax Seeds
 • 2 Tablesp. Kakao Nibs
 • 1 teasp. Zimt
 • 1 teasp SuperGreen
 • 15g Whole Psyllium Husk
 • 15g Sesam Seeds
 • 30g Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil
 • 50g Mixed Berries (I just had to add those in)
 • 300-500ml Wasser

This is a great post-workout shake, I had something similar after my workout

I can only post one video per post, that's why I made a double post

Hmmm, not sure I agree with the first video completely. I advise anyone who wants to go into a high fat diet to go all the way and go into ketosis. If you aren't in ketosis your body is still going to want to use carbohydrates as it's main source of energy. When you are in ketosis your body will use the fat as energy.

Are you concerned about the amount of fiber?
In Europe fiber isn't part of the carbohydrate count.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the fiber, but 150g might be a bit overkill

Huh? he said to have 150g of fiber? (didnt watch entire video)

Yes, he says that the recipe has 70 or 80g of carbs, but 60 are fiber (soluble fiber) and that he eats 150g of fiber a day.

Man, that's wayyyyyy too much. You'd feel so bloated. I feel bad when I have 60g. 10-15g per 1000 calories will be fine.

Well, probably most people only get 15-20g per day (when they are lucky).
And the recommended dose is about 30-40g, so most people would feel bloated with that.
There is also a huge difference between recommended/normal dose/range and ideal dose/range

You can judge by feel. 30-40 is fine for me

Fair enough.
The quality of the carbs, protein and fat you're eating is far far far far far, ... more important than the ratio of them.
And yes I know, I'm the one who posted the recipes, but mainly because they use all the right sources and ratio is really not that important to me

Ratio is far far far more important than the source. Please buy the ebook from Eric Helms called the pyramid of importance. I promise you, that if you eat as clean as possible and you're not in a caloric deficit. You WILL not loose weight. Your body doesn't recognize food sources it only knows the macro nutrients with in them which then go down the metabolic pathways. I can send you some power points of my lectures if you wish.

Think of food as currency, you have a balance (Calories) and with that balance you can choose how you're going to spend it (Carbs, fat, protein). With the current research around 1lb per lbm is good, around 0.4g of fat per body weight is good, then fill the rest with carbs. The reason whole foods are "healthy" is because they are micro nutrient dense. The reason they are recommended is because if you eat these foods you are more than likely to hit your micronturient requirements. You don't get brownie points for ingesting more than the micronutrients you need - quite the opposite actually you'll start showing adverse signs.

I'm going to be doing a literature review on fiber and its role of soon so I'll link it soon.

Man I'm so glad I've a mesomorph body so that no matter what I eat, so long as I even walk around a little, I'll stay swollee! niguhh

Another pet peeve is when vegetable STAN's tell you how its the healthiest. Huh? Niguh are you there when they don't irrigate it with hormones filled fertilizers and cancerous pesticides? Unless you grow your own crops there's no telling what they're putting in you

I'm sorry man but these people are just trying to sell books and not basing anything on the general consensus we have from research. Anyone can cherry pick studies to fit their bias, but this guy is a classic "I have the secret BUY MY BOOK!". Counting calories is not complex and its the most precise uniform way of loose weight. I promise you, I swear my life on it... YOU WILL NOT LOOSE WEIGHT UNLESS YOU EAT LESS CALORIES THAN YOU BURN. Restricting your self from foods you enjoy is the easiest way to cause diet relapse and rebound. Find a balance, don't cut things out completely - eat enough whole foods to hit your micronutrients and stay full and keep it all within your calories. Watch this video, you'll be glad you did. Don't listen to snake oil authors who sell you basic biochemistry.

Yeah man counting calories isn't hard since you dont really have to count anything. Its as simple as eat well and work out, and it doesn't hurt to be eighteen right fry?

There's the tactic of overcomplicating things to make it seem you know alot which makes one gravitate to personal trainers and nutritionists. If you have zero will power then yeah go pay trainers so they can get you psyched for fitness

Don't confuse biochemistry with math, it's a terrible mistake that we've done for far too long.

Just telling people to just eat less to stay healthy/thin/fit just isn't cutting it anymore we're in the 21 century

So what is this guy preaching then? Eat less whilst eating more volume? Not rocket science, it's a joke he's wrote a book on it. Literally download an app on your phone and scan barcodes - it's that easy. Make a tiny little bit of effort to see continuous and sustained results. Eat less move more isn't enough. But find your maintenance calories and eat less than that is.

I try simplify things in my thread on counting calories best I can.

It's about rebalancing your body on a hormonal level, so that you can be fit and healthy.

You know, there was a time when people thought that the earth is flat, that we cannot fly, that you have to eat less and exercise more (or that penis enlargment doesn't work ;)).
But time has changed... And I'm really glad to be one of those people who are on the front of the "new" science and into a new area of making the impossible possible

He's an author not a scientist, nothing much affects hormone levels to a degree of significant change unless you take exogenous levels. Between normal levels (500-700) you won't see much change. Please show me the studies where you can loose weight without being in a deficit. The reason we're fat is because we exercise less (cars, sit in desk jobs all day) we eat more refined foods ( higher calories, less volume, so you can eat more). And because society is at a point where food is in an abundance and it's cheap.

This guy has really brainwashed you, please please listen to people who aren't selling books and supplements. I'm sorry bro but you're taking nonsense, there is not a drug on earth that I know of that will flip-side the metabolism. Every drug that helps weight loss does so by increasing the metabolism.

I'm not talking about taking any drugs just real food and maybe smart supplementation.

Actually in his book he shows you a lot of studies with links to them.

Literally, track your calories - if you are hungry do some cardio. If you need help feel free to message me. But stop looking for miracle cures - they don't exist. He's selling "eat more high satiety foods and increase your metabolism" well I tell you that you don't need to read a book for that.

But you guys this thread has to do with giving us fresh, convenient, and savory recipes. Save the senseless arguing for a different thread please

I never understood why people would follow nutrition advice for example of a guy who has been obese for past 20 years and looks like sport is his enemy.

You can keep it very simple - just eat real food, get enough sleep, do high quality exercise and manage stress.

And you don't have to buy in the whole sunny chocolate-thing. I don't either.
But I still love my cacao nibs :P

Yeah, people like Layne Norton are your best bet. Have their own peer reviewed research out. Keep up to date with the literature surrounding the topic.

Dude, how does he give misinformation, he's one of the guys who conduct the studies every human being bases their knowledge off. Everything we know today is from PhD's publishing research, he is one of those people.
