Brawn Johnson's Routine and Progress

GOALS:

Primary = 9in NBP Erect Length x 7in Erect girth

Secondary = proportionate flaccid gains. I'm currently a grower and would rather be a show-er.

An obstacle I have right off the bat is an already complicated and packed schedule, with PE being awesome but low on the totem pole. If I manage to make some gains and I'm pleased with them, I may end up heading into maintenance earlier than 9x7 in order to focus on other priorities.

STARTING ROUTINE:
DLD's Newbie Routine, 5 days on 2 days off

Rather than having an amount of time set aside for kegels, I'm just going to do them quite a bit throughout the day.

Ideally I wish to stick with this until the gains stop. I'm concerned about overtraining and sacrificing EQ, so I don't want to ramp up the intensity if it's not yet necessary. At the same time, if the time commitment gets too much I might decide to invest a little earlier in the Phallosan just to make the work more passive.


WHAT I'VE DONE:
With the time of my life I've set aside for PE, I've mostly done homework. That's how I found DLD and MoS, and read up on what you guys get up to here. I'm still pretty overwhelmed and unsure -- there's no way around how new this field is and how little we know about how exactly it works -- but I realize I won't get results unless I actually take action on something. So here we go!

As of this post, I've already been working up to speed on the routine. (A 3-day week, and now 2 4-day weeks of doing at least the stretching and kegels but usually leaving out the jelqs). So what I've been doing so far doesn't count, just warming up and getting into a routine.

WHAT I WILL DO:
Next week (starting Monday, Oct 29) I begin the routine in full! On that Monday, I will also post starting stats, and will post new measurements on the fourth Monday of each month thereafter. I will also be keeping pictures, which for the time being I will keep to myself. If I manage to get some decent results, I'll post that stuff as well for documented proof.

Your plan sound good, it is always good to start with the Newbie Routine if you are new or coming back after a long break. I suggest you read through SRT Routine as this will give you some great tips on how to maximize your workouts, it also is a brilliant routine to settle into after the Newbie Routine.

Okay, starting stats:

Flaccid length (after 10min warm up) = 3.75 in
-no stretching, no bone press, based on picture

Flaccid girth (after 10min warm up) = 4.25 in

*NBPEL = 5 7/8 in

*Erect Girth = 4 7/8 in
-measured mid-shaft

*I take pictures of the measurements and then look at the pictures. I should note that measuring accurately and consistently might end up being a challenge, since taking myself 'out of the moment' enough to measure already starts killing my erection, and the camera is freaking kryptonite. These measurements are probably at ~90% erect, which I think I can probably consistently maintain long enough for a picture without taking all day.

NOVEMBER 26, 2018

NBPFL = 4.5 in
Flaccid girth = 4 3/8 in

NBPEL = 5 7/8 in
Erect Girth = 4 15/16 in

Notes: I did a session on Saturday to make up for a lost day during the week, so this session took place after just one day of rest, instead of two days like the measurements on October 29. It's possible that this could account for some of the 'growth.'

Getting erect measurements is proving pretty difficult. Even going into a session knowing that I'm trying to get erect for the purpose of measurement makes it hard to get it up... At no point during this session was I able to get a real, rock hard erection going. Probably still around 80-90% erect and that may have to do for now. Hopefully I get used to the pressure.

I also noticed, when measuring EL, that I was pressing in just a little bit. Looking back at my pictures from 10/29, I believe I was doing the same thing there. So, even though the measurements appear the same, I may have about an 1/8" NBPEL growth because the latter measurement is more honest. I may switch to BPEL just to make the measurements easier and more consistent.

DECEMBER 5, 2018

Early measurements because I'm starting up with BigAl, and he wants starting measurements. After this, I take a 1 week break and start in on what he's got me doing.

As of these measurements, I'll be measuring BP. In terms of ultimate result I really only care about NBP, but in terms of measuring progress I'll be able to measure more accurately and consistently with BP measurements.

BPFL = 4 7/8 inches
BPSFL = 7 1/4 inches
BPEL = 7 inches

DECEMBER 11, 2018

These measurements are after one week without working out and without wrapping. (Took a 7 day rest before starting a new routine, per Big Al's instructions).

Flaccid girth: 4 3/8"

**Measured higher up the shaft than before, I believe I get slightly thicker nearer the glans, and that accounts for at least some (if not all) of the difference. From now on I will measure right behind the glans to make sure I'm at the same spot each time.

Hello sirs!

I've just been sticking with the newbie routine, and wearing the ace bandage wrap pretty much 24/7 outside of that (including on rest days). I did my first 5 days last week after measuring on Monday! I'll take and post new measurements on 11/26. The first few measurements I take might not be that useful, because I'm still getting the hang of that. Erection quality in particular has a million shades of grey, and it appears to be a skill in itself just getting your cock to sit still for a picture. :)

I'm making my first adjustment as of today, as well. I use baby powder to get a better grip for stretching, and last week I was using shampoo rather than vasoline for jelqing because it was easier to clean up. HOWEVER, the powder/pull to daily shampoo combo was just too much, and ended up doing a real number on my skin. Dried it out until it was flaking and everything. So today I'm switching back to vasoline to get some moisturizer worked in every day as well.

I also want to start experimenting with something another member mentioned (can't recall whose post I read now): splitting up the stretching workout throughout the day. Right now I sit down and do all three reps of those basic stretches one after the other, and then no more stretching for the day. The drawback, of course, is that I only have one session in a day, and the penis has that much more time between sessions to 'settle back in,' if that's a thing. The wrap prevents that to some extent, but perhaps not as useful as stretching throughout the day. On the other hand, I may theoretically get my best stretches by doing them one right after the other, with the first two sets warming me up for the third. Further, (and this is REALLY important), I save time by only having to warm up and down ONCE per day.

The time thing alone, saving myself the bother of several daily warmups, may preclude me splitting it up for now. Time is a big limiting factor, and the newbie routine strains my schedule as it is. I'll probably end up jumping into SRT before I really "need" to just so I can take advantage of all the passive stretching and reduce the time I have to spend on manual exercises.

Anyway, just popping in to share my thoughts and let you know I'm still on top of this. Thanks for checking in, and don't worry if I'm not posting all the time here. I spend more time reading what others are writing around here... so much to learn! But I'll post when I've got updates. :)

Quick update for today: switching back to vaseline fixed the skin problem in just one session. Stick with that, kids.

I love Vaseline! If I do any wet work it was always with Vaseline. I love the new GIF button and bring so much life to the posts!

Just quickly noted about the shampoo etc., business; for moisturising effect I suggest Shea butter instead of Vaseline.
Vaseline really isn't that moisturising, it's more of an coating agent.
It can work, I'm not debunking all the qualities of Vaseline, but it's your penis and I'd give it more natural ointments than vaseline. ;-)

Just my "two cents", I personally favor Shea butter and other more natural oils available. Hemp seed oil is more runny, but a good one for conditioning one's skin.
Argan oil is one of my favorites as well.
Shea butter is the closest to "consistency" of vaseline, it it solid in normal room temperature, melts between hands and stays slick.
It isn't comedogenic, so unless you're worried about staining your clothes or something, it isn't a big problem if you don't wipe it off too hard. (I mean, you could be done with a session and feeling fatigued after it, not feeling like cleaning up too much etc..)

I am a dirty dog lol and I like it! I never could use anything but Vaseline. It is the best to jelq with, period! But there are some side effects that come with using Vaseline also. It clogs the pours and if you do not get all of it off you skin you will end up with ingrown hairs. It is very hard to remove; I used to be a salesman for my Family Business.. I had to wear suits to work and within a few weeks all of my clothes were stained. So, yes it is the best to jelq with but the side effects outweigh the reward. I switched to an all dry workout (birth of the The SlowSquashJelq!) and never went back. If I ever did wet work I would follow ARKAILIJA advice.

Thanks for that, arkailija! I think all I really needed was to STOP doubling up on the baby powder and shampoo for a bit. :D But I'll keep the Shea butter in mind if I ever run into that issue again!

Had a rough week here coming up on Thanksgiving... Didn't really sit down for the workout out but kept myself wrapped at all times! Anyway, I'll kill it this coming week.

Huh... well 'dry' sounds even better, faster, and more convenient! And removal is definitely the thing I'm not liking much about vaseline... it's a whole new chore to take care of! I'll take a look at the SSJ!

Thanksgiving week was a bruiser for me and I didn't get as much done as usual. I ended up squeezing in four days, but with only 1 or 2 reps of the basic stretches and sometimes no jelqing. I kept myself wrapped, but I also broke both clips for my ACE bandage and I'm making do while I wait for bulk extras to come in the mail.

I read a DLD thread about the importance of kegels, and going forward I'm just going to start doing them basically whenever I think of it. Further, I will incorporate reverse kegels into stretches and kegels into jelqing!

I took new measurements today, this being about one month after I really started working consistently with DLD's newbie routine, and I'll post them in my measurements post. (See page 1, I'm just going to keep editing that post so that the entire history of measurements is there in one single post).

Gotta say, after burning a few hours trying to catch the elusive "erection" on film, I have a whole new respect for male adult entertainment stars.

1. Definitely incorporate SSJ's into your girth routine. You can do them anywhere(private) really without any tools and they are amazing.

2. Try Jahoba oil for wet jelqing. That's my favortite and it is a non-comedogenic oil that conditions the skin as well (I get a little dry under the glans from hot water pumping)

3. If you can afford it, invest in a LengthMaster and a Bathmate.

4. For pictures, what worked for me was keeping it in my mind that these are just for ME, nobody else. No matter if you decide to share them or not. Definitely KEEP those photos. I lost mine from 2014, and even though I have my measurements, it would be nice to have a visual comparison.

I’m truly laughing out loud but you’re so right the penis does not like rulers or video! The fastest way to kill any erection is to try to measure it for film it LOL. Thanks for your superb update, I can tell you’re taking this very serious and someone who takes this very serious makes incredible gains.

Thanks for the tips and the good vibes! I'll check out the Jahoba oil for sure, and in the new year I'll be investing in some equipment as well. Certainly the LM and leaning towards the Phallosan. What do you guys like so much about the Bathmate series vs the Penomet? Man, you slip the strongest gaitor onto that Penomet and it feels like it's going to rip your wang off...

Yeah the pics are important, and actually I will share them when I end up making notable gains. If this stuff works, I want to provide all the proof I can! My modest contribution to this great cause. ;) Sorry to hear you lost yours! I'm going to experiment with different ways to think of the measuring. It's just... it's not sexy at all... and I need to find a way to make it otherwise!

"Wine-vac mod?" Like, somehow adding a wine-bottle vacuum to the pump? I've never heard of such a thing! Sounds hardcore!

I really like the wife-and-2-friends idea! I'll try that next time!
 
Some of the new Bathmates come with a suction bulb now to increase the vacuum after the initial pump.

But you can do that with the Penomet too - just search "wine vac" here and it should pop up.

After i get my gaitor to grab and do my first pump, I throw a small piece of silicone sleeve over the top of the release valve. The valve is in the locked position.

Then take a regular wine vacuum sealer pump and push it all the way down, place it over the silicone ring(your seal), and then pull upwards to suck more air/water out. I typically point the chamber up, so that air exits first when I do this.

Hope that is clear, and like I said it has been discussed in length here as well....

I tried out the slow squash jelqs today after I found a video of DLD demonstrating. I could definitely feel the intensity on that, and I'm considering swapping SSJ in for my regular jelqs. I love the idea of no cleanup. :)

At the same time, I'm not really sure how to measure the SSJ. With normal jelqs, I can just count the reps and know how much work I got done. With SSJ I can keep track of the time I spend doing it, but then that gets a little messy when you take into account the downtime for getting hard again. I had a harder time getting into a 'zone' with the SSJ, whereas with regular jelqs I'm starting to get better at hitting my target erection % and staying there for a session, and really feeling the pressure over time. Maybe I just need practice with the SSJ too!

So anyway, I'll keep thinking about that.

Another issue that has come to my attention since Monday is 'turkey neck.' It turns out I have one, probably because I have not been holding the skin down at the base when I stretch. If the baby powder magic/perfect grip stars align I can do some of these stretches pretty well with one hand, in which case I'm focusing on following DLD's advice and using my other hand to hold the skin. When I need both hands to get a decent stretch, I'm experimenting with wearing a cock ring as far down the base as I can get it. Some skin slips under it, but it definitely helps!

Please do my brother I feel like SSJ’s were one of my best exercises I invented for a few reasons. With SRT using their bathmate 5×5×3 destroys fluid retention and it causes so much more expansion. Another reason they’re so powerful is they’re closed end exercise meaning your trapping the blood from the top and the bottom so no blood is lost. The jelq should be used just to get used to PE after that every man should jump into SRT if they want to make the fastest gains possible.

Quick Update:

As of this week I am back on track! A very solid week, hitting it every day, never leaving anything out. It's good!

I read a thread from MinceyDice talking about infra red heaters, and decided to pick one up and give that a try so I can 1) warm up passively and get other work done, and 2) keep the heat on all throughout the workout so I don't have a chance to cool down. Allegedly these devices also 'promote healing' in the tissue they hit... not sure to what extent that's a crock, but if that works too then this would really help speed up results!

I'm now thinking about ways to improve my SSJs further. After a little bit of smashing it around, I tend to lose erections and then have to take time to get it back up again. I'm going to try using a cock ring, and also using the "soft wrap" SSJ technique, and see which one works best to help me retain the blood I need for SSJs longer.

Finally, I'm also switching focus a bit more to the healing process. I've done a good job using my wraps, but I'm going to invest in a good multivitamin to supplement my diet, and also focus on drinking more water. That latter bit will start with a big glass in the morning, and a glass before I go to bed!

Quick weekdend update:

1) I've modified my routine to include TWO testi massages each weekday, and testi massages plus rotary cranks on weekends. On weekends before 'measurement Mondays' I'll still give PE a rest entirely in order to get more accurate measurements.

2) I checked out BigAl's MeCoaching service... $77.77 for THREE MONTHS of handholding?? Damn... I'm all over that. I'll let you guys know what he says after the initial interview. I'll let him know I'm down to invest (probably within those three months) in the Phallo and LM. :)
 
Monday Update:

Today I tried a different method for improving my grip. I wrapped my ACE bandage around the head of my cock, tightening just behind the glans, and held on to that. Gave me VERY good grip, without having to mess with baby powder. This saves me some mess, so I can get away from the toilet for stretching, and gave me a better grip than the baby powder did anyway. Between that, keeping the heat dish on my member at all times, and focusing on reverse kegels, I was getting VERY intense stretches today!

The only drawback I can see is that it was also noticeably rougher on my skin than the baby powder. But I should probably start using some moisturizer afterwards anyway!

A solid week last week and looking at another one this week!

I’m very happy to see you last weeks work and how well it went, mark that down as a successful week. Now onto the next one and eventually won many days are strong together you’ll see the gains you desire.

I'll still be tracking NBP in addition for myself, because my goals are for certain NBP measurements, but BP will help me track progress more accurately. I'll get those new stats and post them in my measuring post (first page) today.

You are in good hands with Big Al. Also refer to SRT when thinking on how to include tools within the routine. Good reading on your time off. ??
 
Today is the last day of mandatory rest, and Big Al wants measurements to see what changes took place during the week. Posting those measurements here!

So these measurements are after one week without working out and without wrapping.

Flaccid girth: 4 3/8"
BPFL: 5"
BPFSL: 7 1/4"
Erect Girth: 5 1/4" **
BPEL: 7"

**Measured higher up the shaft than before, I believe I get slightly thicker nearer the glans, and that accounts for at least some (if not all) of the difference
 
Can you also post your original stats along with these new stats? That will be easier for new people to see what gains do you have made. Thanks my brother
