Having trouble getting on to mos recently?

for the past few days ive been trying to get on to the forum at different times, and it seems to be going down a lot- i just cant access it.

i thought it would be a good idea to let DLD/ the mods know if they didnt already. is it happening to anyone else? does anyone know why this is happening?

same for me this morning. then i came back after a client a little over an hour later and i got in ok. the site just wouldnt load this morning. yesterday it was telling me the server was to busy and that only lasted about 1 minute and then i got in

I just sent a message to LIGHTNING. He told me yesterday that the ISP was updating the servers but I have not heard anything since. Hopefully he will chime in and let us know what and why this is happening.

They had to change the Ram (Memory) on the server this morning, it was defective. Should be good now.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I remember not too long ago the forum getting hacked or cyber attacked resulting in it being down for a little while. If I'm wrong though, someone correct me!

Thats what happened here but there were allot of redirects and it was shutting the server down. We have a massive database here and massive traffic so spammers like to hit sites like these. We have many security features in place to eliminate spammers, hacks and bad bots. This is why occasionally new forum members that start new posts may be auto-moderated until an admin approves the posts/threads. It will happen occasionally until they get their post count and rep up here.

When you one of the biggest forums on the internet you have to expect to be attacked. We have incredible security and back up measures in place to protect us. I was glad to see this was a RAM issue because I have great confidence in our security.

Nowadays, we rarely get this problem. The forum is always up and running fine.

Accept when there is backup going on. Then the site, will not be accessible for a short time period.

I always gets anxious when MOS is down. Last time I got a pretty strange messages when I tried to access MOS.

The message appeard on, 5/16/23 at 09:57:21, UTC+2 (CEST). I have the message stored. Probably the backup procedure kicking in.
