Hi guys: loving my new LM after only 2 weeks and already feeling incredible stretches at every angle. Which is why it was so disappointing when the wood around the square screw head got worn out after only two weeks and the square screw head is now unable to stay anchored in place when tightening. Turning the wingnut is turning the entire screw with it when tightening, instead of actually tightening!
Has this happened to anyone else?
I tried adding a wood insert fastener and washers to hold the square head in place, but sadly that didn't work.
Wanted to test the forum before bugging DLD with this since I didn't think this would happen after only 2 weeks.

I didn't realize it was still made out of wood? The pictures from the main LM thread seemed to show black plastic. I must not be following something right.

Well, mine is showing some wear marks on the wood as well and there was a problem with the leather comfort pad after about two weeks in.
But that's a new one for me.

Wait for DLD to respond to this.

Mine is ok the comfort pads lol slip off and i have to attach them back every time i used it.but for the most part the LM is an amazing device GAINS GAINS!! :cool

This is being corrected on the next batch but there is a simple fix using larger washers. There is also a modification thread on the forum that I will try to find. I will also have LIGHTNING chime in.

I noticed that early on as well. My solution was just to go buy some stainless washers to put underneath the wing nuts. I still get slight impressions in the wood, but its very little now.

I did the same :)!
I wonder for how long the LM lasts before you need a new one, especially when you use it pretty much everyday and put it on/take it off a few times per day too.

Hi DLD: As I mentioned, washers were what I tried first, as well as a screw head fastener under the screw heads. I wish those helped, but they still did not secure the screws from staying in place in my case, and this started happening to both screws. Perhaps it was that in my case I've been using LM for heavy hanging (and therefore heavy tightening) so my new LM only lasted for two weeks of daily use until this started happening. If it helps, feel free to PM me about whether you might be able to send me a replacement hanger base? Thanks for all that you do!

I will get this to LIGHTNING and have him ship you a replacement. He will chime in to let you know what to do.

Please PM me your name and shipping info and we will get you a replacement. This is the first I have heard of this. The new batch will have the updates on them.

When will the new design be available you think?

All future models will receive this change starting today.

I resolved and improved my LM in the following fashion:

* inner side of bottom section, I recessed a nut. I used a regular bolt (not carriage bolt) with washer. So the bolt goes through from the bottom and is secured quite nicely on the other side by the recessed nut. Which, because it is recessed, does not affect the clamping down of the top piece.

This also allows me to never have to hassle with keeping the bottom bolt secured into the bottom piece while I'm attaching the LM. The bottom through bolt is now secured into the bottom piece and doesn't fall out. Very simple.

I also use long bolts and put a cap end on the top of them. So in essence, I never have to take the two pieces of the LM apart again. They just spread open, I go in or out, and that's that.

I will forward this to LIGHTNING also to help us improve future models, thanks my Brother!

Lightning... I've had this problem for the past year or so and thought it was just normal for the device. How do I get a new replacement version shipped to me? I first purchased my LM when you all had that deal with bathmate to get a discounted price on both. Thanks
