I figured if anybody knew about this it would be the older gentlemen. I'm 21 and am having a problem with my bowel movements. I still have bowel movements but they are a lot thinner then they usually are, it feels like there is just a big ball of feces that I can't get out that's blocking the way. I've tried a number of different things, ex-lax, stoll softeners, enema, magnesium of citrus and I still have this feeling like its just blocked off. What do you guys think is going on?

I know I'm only 19 but my father is a health nut. What do you usually eat? Have you tried kicking up your fiber intake? Eat whole wheat breads and try to get a lot of fiber in your diet.

Flax seed is worth a shot since it is rich in fiber. Look up flax seed online and I'm sure you will agree.

If you are truly constipated, prunes or prune juice will definitely do the job, excuse the expression. But your concern may be needless. Have you changed your diet lately? The thinner stools may just be a result of less bulk in your diet. I would only worry if I couldn't go at all.

Are your stools black? If there is any bleeding, then I would have it checked out by your M.D.

I'd give it a few weeks, and then if you still feel there is some kind of obstruction there, it wouldn't hurt to have it checked out by your doctor.

i've been to the doctor twice. I've taken citrate of magnesia which made me clean out my track so to speak and stole softeners. Next step is a proctology exam :( I'm 21 fuck this

By the way, get used to the idea of a proctology exam. Men are dying right and left from prostate cancer, especially younger men, because they're either too embarrassed or too homophobic to let a doctor stick their fingers or whatever up their butt. Better safe than sorry, I always say, whether it's the bowels or the prostate or whatever.

my doctor told me to call back if I still felt blocked up. Its been about 17 days now that i've been blocked up and it was brought on when I took pepto bismol. It's getting better I think but the only problem is I have a slight pressure on my kidneys that is a little uncomfortable.

You know, sometimes something gets irritated (irritable bowel syndrome) and it eventually goes away. But if it were weighing on my mind the way it appears to be weighing on yours, just having the proctology examination would be worth the time and expense to relieve my concern.

Get your self some nutritional yeast. Mix 1 level teaspoon in with your cornflakes or whatever. Do this once evey day . This works every time. Experiment with it a bit until you get your ideal dose.....Its a totally natural product...No chemicals... P.s .. dont use brewers yeast or you'll explode...Kaboom....

Not to be an alarmist, but if you've tried all kinds of stuff to get "the blockage" to move and you still feel all bound up and it's actually squeezing yer stool so that it thins out, you just might have a good ol' case of hemorrhoids. Which would be better than the possibility of either diverticulitis or polyps. Either of which ain't too bad...until ya let 'em go too long.

Might just be time to let Doc take that borescope and peek up yer wazoo. It is somewhat embarrassing and undegnified, but then again so's dying from festering impacted fecal matter clogging up yer plumbing.
