my music

I play guitar too, for about 11 years now. All I play is death metal. What tuning are you playing in? Sounds like standard E or even E# to me. You got some skills man but IMHO your shit would sound 10 times harder if you tuned to dropped D and then down 2 full steps like me LMAO I play for myself and I'm writing my own music but I started out learning old Metallica, Slayer, Pantera and Sepultura. The baddest cover me and my drummer friend play is Machine Head's "Desire to Fire" off of their 1999 album "The Burning Red"...the baddest...hardest...song....EVER IMO. Keep it up dude..it's good to see someone here with similar interests as myself

you tune to drop B?!? thats pretty dam low, lowest i've come across people using on a 6-string is B standard.

Wouldn't two full steps be C? E -> Eb -> D -> C# -> C. Or am I missing something? What exactly is Drop B? My brother likes to play Black Sabbath, and the lowest I've seen him go is C#. Personally I have never gone lower than Eb.

Gonna check out your music later, AcesHigh.

<edit> Sorry, read too fast. :) Drop B? I've never seen anyone go as low as that.. I would imagine the strings would just flob.

i tune to drop A, but that's on a 7-string and i use the thickest guitar strings you can get, to avoid floppyness.

the deftones latest album has stephen carpenter tune to G# standard, thats on his custom baritone 7-string though, but its the lowest i've ever heard of anyone tuning.

Yo guys, I've got a Fender Strat Squier and a little amp. I can't play it at all. What is the best quickest way to learn to play good?

You need to set-up your guitar for a fatter guage string. You can do this simply by adjusting the spring tension in the back, but I did it right and filed my nut, adjusted the springs and action. It sounds low as shit and with my Digitech pedal and Crate half-stack I fucking rock out loud as shit I use 11 guage strings...Blue Steel :rocker:

not all guitars have springs in the back, i think thats just for floating bridges, i can't remember coz i never look much into floating bridges coz i hate the fuckers.

and if ya want my recomendation, GHS zakk wylde signiture low tune boomers 11-70, best strings there are and biggest strings there are.

by the way, what digitech pedal do you have, coz there are a lot, and what other shit you got, for interests sake.

I use every single tuning I can get my hands on. That is 3/4 steps down on the first two songs, and the second is either 1/4 or D standard. I would have to listen again. I am sure it is D. I dislike going lower than c#

I now use A tuning sparingly, it is fun. I still stick to d standard. I like the mid tone more than bass.
