stillwantmore2;649783 said:My genre lately is "near future sci fi". In other words, science fiction that uses terminology, technology, developing sciences that are either in development, or currently in use. It makes the stories more believable for me. Being well read in general regardless of genre is good for anyone realistically.
Some I've read the last several months:
Nexus (Book One) Crux (Book Two) Apex (Book Three) all by Author Ramez Naam
Entangled by Graham Hancock
Amped (Book One) Wired (Book Two) by Douglas Richards
Quantum Lens and Minds' Eye by Douglas Richards
The Transhumanist Wager by Zoltan Istvan
Upload by Mark Mcclelland
I also like a couple books by Ray Kurzweil. If you call yourself a science enthusiast and don't know who this man is, you need to do some homework. One of if not the most brilliant man alive today. A noted futurist, who has accurately predicted the track of Moore's Law, and developed many technologies we take for granted today. Also currently on the board at Google.
How To Create a Mind by Ray Kurzweil
The Singularity Is Near by Ray Kurzweil
I also enjoy books that delve into psychology, entheogens and the combination and exploration of the two.
DMT The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman M.D.
The Psychedelic Future of the Mind by Thomas Roberts Ph D.
Oh, also an Anne Rice fan! She's released some new books semi recently:
The Wolf Gift by Anne Rice
The Wolves of Midwinter (Book Two of Three) by Anne Rice
Prince Lestat (Yep, new vampire chronicles coming back around!) by Anne Rice
I get everything through my Kindle app. I love that I can take my books with me anywhere and they're all backed up online in my Amazon account. PLUS, Kindle books cost a lot less.

huge-girth;651381 said:DLD are these books you mentioned inspirational? I need inspiration for my music
doublelongdaddy;651556 said:No, not inspiration in the way unless you love Wagner These books are mainly on battle and victory I think Machiavelli's "The Price" should be a read for every Brother that want to empower himself as far as strategy goes. Hitler's book is a great read because it deals with the horrors of WW1 and brings Germany into a new beginning of success and abundance. Hitler wrote Mein Kampf when in prison.

Aimingforthetop;653717 said:We might see more hate and violence. But we have to remember. We have cameras everywhere now a days. In my 1 room apartment. I have: cell phone.
3 old laptops (they got webcam)
My new laptop.
My tablet
A go pro
A spy cam
A droid
And an actual mirror camera (if you can believe that)
So thats 9. And one of them is equipped in the item i bring with me the most.
We could literally see was in point of view without the bigger issues.
So when people say that there is more violence today. Just remember that the information media has improved.
If 2 groups are throwing rocks at each other.
We can easily set up a couple of drones and see it in full HD resolution. We could not do that 20 years ago
