Warm water is the usual protocol. SOme men have ventured into the cold water warm downs but little information has been found.

Cold water warm downs feel gooood.

I do prefer mostly cold water. Is there any difference by using hot water / cold water ?

Mylesser, apparently cold water prevents turtling and penis looks stiffer. I found this info after browsing couple of sources.
