Hey guys.

I know we have some great computer whizzes here and I was needing some help.

I need a really good video editor that will allow me to insert pics into the vid clip. even if I have to break down frame by frame that is ok.

Any suggestions for software?

Thanks,
kook

Come to think of it if you are looking for a free solution on either platform try AvidDV Free. It only supports two vidoe tracks but it doesn't seem like you'll need more than that for what your wanting to do.http://www.avid.com/freedv/index.asp

if your looking for a pay solution try Sony's Vegas Video or Adobe Premire on the PC side and on t he mac side iMovie or, wait come to think of it if you need a mac solution youd already have it in iMovie since every mac comes with it lol so i guess i answered my own pc or mac question. Wow the powers of deductive reasoning.

Adobe Premiere is great for the PC. Just download the demo, it should be fully functional for 30 days and if you like it enough either buy it or crack it.
Microsoft Movie Maker which comes with alot of new computers (think it is standard with XP? Is with mine anyway) is basic, easy to use and should be enough to insert a few pics. I use both of them for re editing scenes, making highlight clips and trailers and they both get the job done.

I used iMovie on my Mac once and it was challenging, but rather user-friendly given the complex nature of video editing. Most of my work was tranferring old VHS to [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/mosdvd.htm]DVD[/words]. I also own a copy of Final Cut Express and I've really just peaked at it. That software is definitely not for the weekend warrior, but should be able to give you soem real quality stuff if you want to master it.

I don't know what is out there for PC. I think most video editors would opt for Mac, but I understand better stuff has come out for PC in recent years.
