You must make sure that you are doing everything to stay consistent. Do not set short term goals but measure every 6 months. Give PE a minimum of 2 years. I laugh at people who say PE doesn't work.

I never said PE doesn't work. The only short term goals I have in PE are to keep effective habits and not miss more than 3-4 days per month if any. IMO, measuring every 6 months is too big of a gap in time for me to find out my PE training is flawed. I agree, a PE endeavor is a marathon race, even though Mr DLD did his in a sprint.

It’s kinda sad to see the majority of people come and go only to back 10 years later trying again and then leave again.

For me it was balls to the walls for years....training daily for hours. Not everyone has the luxury or determination. Most people want what want right away and don't see how important dedication for as long and hard no matter what till they get what they want
