So I use an online personal for meeting women, and have used it for a couple weeks. I talked to a girl who was online, and we talked for a while (even though she didn't particularly respond to what I was directly saying). At the end she said she had to go and asked for my e-mail. I gave it to here, and today a message comes to me, here is the exact e-mail:

"Hello! Sorry it took a long time to get back to you.
I'm sneaking a message off at work, my boss does not
get in until later in the afternoon. How are you? I am
ok, just trying to get through the day, I am so tired

I guess I should start by telling you more about
myself. Alot of people have told me I have very soft

outgoing and social person but that scene gets old
very fast.

or coffee? I've had to work alot, so I am not sure
when I will have some free time, but what's your

THe pictures are for an adult website (porno) and they're not even the ones of the girl in the personal picture. I can't believe people would fall for this, and I certainly can't believe that people are using personal sites for the purpose of selling adult entertainment. Now that I've been disenfranchised from online dating for a while, I'm going to have to get off my dead ass and find some beotches. I simply have no time though.... dammit.

I talked to a girl like this once. Not sure how I met her...at a frat party I think. She talked to me on the phone, then basically did the same thing. Online personal are huge and still growing. Eventually, according to some predictions, a majority of relationships will be initiated through the internet. Sure makes perfect sense to someone like myself that is busy as hell, but insists on certain things from a woman. That all being said, there are some scams and shit and you just have to learn to recognize them. Pay attention to how general versus how specific her answers are to your questions and does something she is saying contradict something she said last week?

If this "girl" didn't directly respond to what you were saying and then followed up with a adult entertainment ad, it wasn't a person at all-- it was an automated IM/chat spam-bot. Yahoo is full of them.

Online personals can work but you have to find the right site... and in my experience Yahoo wasn't it, for the most part. (I did meet one good woman through Yahoo, though after a few dates she decided she didn't want to date anyone- she was juggling two jobs and not sleeping much. Met another who would have been a sure thing for a one-night-stand, but she let slip that she had a bit of a meth habit, and D/D free is a hard and fast rule for me... I've always thought Nerve.com had a fun personals section, though by the time I was ready to try it I was already "sort of seeing" someone, and that wound up turning monogamous.)
