Need help

Anyone from Iowa on here? Ron Paul needs some help there. He needs votes to win the straw poll. He has been blacked out by the media and needs recognition. The Iowa straw poll is very important because it is and has allways been viewed by MSM. Mitt Romney is buying voters down there. He buys there tickets and bus rides if you vote for him. Ron Paul does not play that way. If you don't wan't to pay no more taxes to the IRS or the federal taxes Please help in Iowa. Ron Paul will abolish them if he gets elected president. Think about the extra money you will have in your pay checks. For our country please help out in Iowa. This straw poll is very important to his grass roots movement. Please help us take our country back and spread this message.

Are you talking about the Iowa Caucuses? Or some of the upcoming debates down there? Ron Paul's internet momentum is really far-reaching if he's getting people to rally on Penis Enlargement sites, although his main demographic is white males 25-40, so I guess it's not too surprising.

No this is the AMES straw poll on the 11th. Yes they have alot of support but could allways use more. The caucuses comes after this poll. This is the fund raising they have every 4 years and get's lots of press. The MSM will not be able to ignore RP if he wins this. Especially since mitt romney is buy voters.
He's not having people do this, Myself and many others are doing all this on our own with no payment involved. This is the grass roots movement. Rp does not have to pay people to do his work. We believe in him and doing all this on our own. But I didn't even think of this till after I asked a few questions on the main forums. Then I thought this would be a good idea.
If RP wasn't true to his stances and was a flip flopper or a front. I wouldn't be doing this for him. He has never flip flopped and he is an honest true American for the people and not the corporations. Could you help spread the word? Maybe you should just do a little research on him and judge for your self,Then decide if you will help? You nor anyone else will be dissapointed by him.

These below should be more than enough to want to vote for him..

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. What other congress man gives money back????

Dr. Ron Paul

What Is The Strategy For the Iowa (Ames) Straw Poll? - Ron Paul Forums

I wasn't suggesting you were paid or anything like that; I just know Ron Paul has a really active support base on the internet. I've worked for a number of political campaigns and this is the most active cycle in terms of net organization yet.

I like Ron Paul in some respects, but I don't think he's the best man for the job. Some of his ideas are out of touch or not feasible (just in my opinion), and he made some disturbing racial generalizations a few years ago that sort of betrayed a pretty facile world view, but I try not to pass judgement on somebody's character as a whole based on a few isolated remarks.

Interestingly, I have some hardcore libertarian friends that don't like Paul because some of his positions apparently don't jive with a true believer libertarian approach to politics.

But beyond all that, he seems to be catching the interest of a lot of people that were previously uninterested or totally disgusted with politics, and I always appreciate a candidate that can do that.

I'm amazed Romney has persevered and even scrapped to the top of the heap. The GOP field is pretty weak and Romney is the kind of political opportunist that has a real knack for adapting to electoral circumstances - just take a look at how he's distanced himself from his formerly centrist social positions for evidence. Guys like that are pretty tough to beat in the national game, but Ron Paul is doing amazingly well, all things considered.

I have to say, I think one of the things that is giving Ron Paul a boost is his anti-war stance and high degree of contrast to the Bush adminstration - people are so frustrated with Dubya that they're very attracted to somebody that represents the polar opposite. I often worry that this causes them to accept a lot of Ron Paul's policies without carefully examining the intellectual justifications behind them, but judging by the stuff I've read from his supporters, that's not the case so far.

The NY Times ran a great weekend piece covering Paul's career and campaign - very fair, covers the good and the bad. I learned a few things from it and I've read numerous write-ups of the guy over the last few months. The last part has some details about why Ron Paul appeals to conspiracy theorists and political fringe dwellers which I thought was interesting. It wasn't dismissive or condescending, but did acknowledge that his campaign is sort of a lighting rod for the conspiracy crowd. The best point was a very nice summing up of the enduring appeal his campaign has shown thus far:

"But what is “Ron’s message”? Whatever the campaign purports to be about, the main thing it has done thus far is to serve as a clearinghouse for voters who feel unrepresented by mainstream Republicans and Democrats. The antigovernment activists of the right and the antiwar activists of the left have many differences, maybe irreconcilable ones. But they have a lot of common beliefs too, and their numbers — and anger — are of a considerable magnitude. Ron Paul will not be the next president of the United States. But his candidacy gives us a good hint about the country the next president is going to have to knit back together."
